I enquired about the salary for Coleman being mentioned as 900K a week or so back. If he is, the currency isn’t Sterling was the reply.

A brief internet search, Grew up in Wiltshire with a Welsh mother, got involved in the Welsh exiles programme, played various age grade rugby for Wales, Cardiff Met Uni and Dragons academy. Joined Cornish Pirates summer 2021 and LI summer 2022. He's clearly progressing and as he's approximately the same as our two young locks, may know them and played with them.

Having had a long, hard look at our squad two areas which I am concerned about outweigh other areas where, due to squad cutting, young back up players may well get their chances. The two areas of concern for me are 4 & 13.
A tight head lock has long been on our wish list & I hope that our South African forward coach will be able to offer some insight either through his time in Japan or more recently of course the Lions. At 13 we are leaf thin with only Joe Roberts who could be considered a front line 13. Foxy adds length to our options now at 12 with JBR, Ioan Lloyd, Scott & Eddie all good options. Foxy at 13 is a different proposition. Ioan & Steff have been used in that position but I would be nervous if it had to be for a run of games. I am pretty sure that Scott has played at 13 to good effect over the years & I would be giving him a chance to back up Joe early doors as he is the most likely candidate, for me, to make a decent job of it if required. Certainly if and when Foxy does call it a day next season that is an area where we should be looking at doing business. It goes without saying that keeping our Tongans would be a major boost. Next season is Carwyn's chance to really break through & emulate what Kemsley & Joe have achieved this season. A good, strong run of performances could well see him push hard for a 6 nations spot as ball carrying No 8's are as rare as Ladram backing the right horse |

I think we should be alright at centre but am worried about 4. 8. and 10, where injuries and call-ups (or both if we are unlucky) would leave us very bare.

lock and back row for me. must sign in these positions.
we only have Macleod, Tuipolotu, Shenton, Ben Williams back rowers with the option of selecting Fifita at 6. I dont think im forgetting anyone. we have a one or two youngsters but they are extremely inexperienced. At lock, we only have Fifita, Lousi, Price and Jones...but if Fifita does play 6, all those options will be involved every fixture...thats assuming of course no injuries. I am also assuming that we will be without Lousi, Fifita and Macleod for at least the opening 3 fixtures due to the world cup. We certainly need at least one lock and at least 2 back rowers coming in...but sadly due to all thats gone on...i dont think we will. |
