I'm surprised we're letting Taylor Davies and Daf Hughes go; I thought we'd keep one of them.

Agree both very good squad players.

Also surprised with Iestyn Rees, got loads of potential.

But it’s prob all due to having to cut the squad due to funding cuts.

Thanks all for your service to the Scarlets 👏

Some unfortunately haven’t played much rugby the last few years due to injuries.

Some useful money freed up there,  to bring in one or 2 quality players ?

Always sad to see players leaving but really suprised to see Daf go. Hope he gets picked up by an English club and does'nt just go straight back to Llandyfri.

Exactly my thoughts. We now have two hookers (both international) and a converted flanker. That’s no criticism of Shaun, every time I’ve seen him play he’s given everything, but still a converted flanker very late in his career. Any development hookers coming through?
Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)

I echo others on this forum thank you for your hard work and service for the Scarlets I’m sure if the budgets were more a few of these players would be staying.

I wish all leavers all the best for the future (unless any will be joining the Ospreys, then I hope you step on Lego)

There will be some Academy contracts upgraded and maybe a few guys like Shenton added.
The hard thing for us to process is most of they guys won’t be replaced, and certainly not like for like. We will also be wafer thin in quite a few positions.

Tough day. Wishing all these guys all the very best.

I've got it listed as 36 at present but not sure if a couple are main squad or academy like Griff Evans and Lewis Morgan

Im  not sure if the 38 include transitional  players(that's the term they are using), academy players to us, or not

This is a shame, but not surprising in the current economic situation. Our thanks go to all the players released or retiring.

I agree that releasing two hookers is a bit surprising, especially as both Ken and Ryan are likely to be in the Wales squad for the RWC... and I doubt that Ken will play very much longer.

Sadly losing a lot of committed and talented players who I hope will go on to succeed elsewhere if not retiring.
We are keeping a nucleus of experienced players in Ken, Samson, Foxy and Scott who may now be gradually making way for younger but equally talented players
Hopefully we can also complete the squad with maybe a second row, tighthead and maybe a back 3 player and outside half, probably all emerging youngsters, if we are to remain solvent
