I feel this is one of our major problems in recent times,to produce consistent teams and results.

We need to produce consistently, hard, mobile forwards .

Since scott quinnell, and dafydd jones it is a struggle to name many forwards produced by the scarlets.

But with the academy system, now beginning, to change that, hopefully, ken owens lou reed and dom day have been superb this season, lets hope now we can go on and develop many more forwards,it is absolutely essential that we do this,I think, that josh turnbull, nic cudd, simon gardiner and a hugely talented prop rhodri jones could be the next to step up .

Ben morgan and  dwayne eager, who have come into the system, are hugely talented .

Ben morgan had a great game against Neath. Great ball carrying. He's still work in progress e.g fitness and conditioning, but he's come on leaps and bounds.

He's getting some good game time and his fitness seems to be improving all the time. He's nowhere near the finished article, but the raw materials are there.

Dont know if he's up to the standard for the scarlets yet mike .
He did play well yesterday though , he's a big boy too .
He scored a try from about 5m out , no one would have stopped him .

If he's got some potential he's worth chucking in to the A/W Cup, because it's a seconds competition.

We'd be mad to play any front-line players next week, so it'll be interesting to see selection.

Id start him v Quins. I want Lyons in cotton wool until the Edinburgh game. And in all honesty there's no other option at 8. My back row for Quins would be Ben 8, Pugh 7 and Josh at 6. I dont expect us to do anything in the EDF, but it would be nice to develop a few of the youngsters and give them game time, Tavis especially.

Phil John, Emyr Phillips, Jamie Corsi, Welch, Shingler, Turnbull, Morgan, Pugh/McCusker/Edwards.

Should be having a look at Reynolds, Fenby, Ford etc in the backs.

Where's this bloke come from? The Llandovery website says he was born in Nigeria. He's 16 stone 10 pounds too apparently.

I've never seen him play. Has he got any talent, or is he just a good athlete playing rugby?

Let's hope he's got his head on and is receiving intensive coaching then.

Backs that are going to 'make it' will be make regional appearances at 17/18 e.g. JD, Ford, Prydie etc.

Hope he gets a run-out at the Stoop next week.

Ben Morgan could, and stress the word could, be the next Scott Quinnell.

Really refreshing to see a number 8 catch the ball in the deep and just run full pelt at the opposition. Agree with the comment above, the speed at which he picked the ball up and drove over from the scrum was very very impressive and as Sturat Barnes would say, Quinnellesque!
