Roy - tax is a totally different issue.

If governments could find a way to ensure that all the tax-dodging companies paid their fair share (Amazon, Starbucks, Vodaphone, Google, Apple to name just some of the largest) - as well as preferably the wealthiest individual tax dodgers, there would be more than enough to go round to fund better schools, roads and hospitals for all of us.

It's disgraceful that you and I pay a higher marginal rate of tax than these companies!

The two tier system is of course beyond scandalous and I concur with your exasperation. Meanwhile in the wild west, as the cutbacks pay freezes continue, the councils in their desperation will invent endless ways to hoodwink more fines, license fees, expensive regulations to try and fill their coffers. so yet again the working man/woman has to pay the piper. the question is what are we going to do about it? I advocate the barter system.

People who voted NO are already becoming aware of the deceit of the UK politicians who flocked up to Scotland in a desperate attempt to get them to vote NO. But Cameron started going back on his promises at 7 o'clock on the morning following the count. Since then the SNP has signed over 50,000 new members, mostly disillusioned Labour voters. The mood in the Question Time location was that if there is no attempt to keep to what was promised to win a NO vote then another referendum will be justified before long.
