The most overated band of all time, most of their stuff sounds horrendously outdated, and but for some cracking marketing (yes, they were remodeled and sold) their early stuff was on a par of crapness with Gerry and the Pacemakers.
I'm not a big fan;) "Hey Bulldog" was pretty good though, and "Helter Skelter", when they rocked out they were ok. Please don't mention Sgt blydi Pepper either, and Lennon's solo stuff is only thought of as good 'cos he's dead. I liked Harrison though, "Concert For Banglaldesh" is a staple possession of any self respecting hippy:)

1. In my Life
2. Norwegian Wood
3. A day in the Life

Alan Partridge nailed it, "You haven't heard of Wings? They're only the band the Beatles could have been".

Nah. Songwriting geniuses. Well, 3 of them.

Although I always preferred them to the stones as a youngsters, I now much prefer the stones.

Have to agree with Kid A here No 6 (although Ringo was a genius as well mun Wink) i love their music. Some of their songs are pure genius. Each to their own though, it would be a bloody boring world if we all agreed.

1. Oh, Darlin'!
2. I'm Looking Through You
3. Two of Us

Yeah, those three will do. Always the songs I go back to.

Over-rated band? You could say that about Genesis or I don't know, the Bee-Gees, but The Beatles have like 6 or 7 flawless albums. Surpassed only in quality by Bob Dylan.

I like "Sexy Sadie" as well tbh, and I once did "Hard Day's Night" on karaoke down Brannigans wine bar so I consider myself an authority.

Favourite Beatles would have to be late, album tracks and would have to be Lennon composites, such as:

Yer Blues
A Day in the Life
I'm So Tired
Tomorrow Never Knows
For the Benefit of Mr Kite

But my all time favourite is I Want You (She's So Heavy)
'' Know your three R's, son..... Rugby, Rock and Ridin'!! ''
