For us codgers, there is an interesting article about BRM (British Racing Motors) on the BBC website.
I remember having a BRM Dinky toy as a kid (as well as Ferrari, Maserati, Cooper and Vanwall...). According to the article, BRM was the first British F1 team, and Graham Hill won his first F1 championship driving a BRM in 1962 - I remember that. Apart from the article's historical interest, I was a bit taken aback by this sentence: (Founder Raymond) Mays and co-founder Peter Berthon built a small factory at the bottom of Mays' garden. Now, I don't know about you, but at the bottom of our garden we have a small shed. Somehow, I don't think a 'small factory' would fit! Other lives, eh?
