We have hired Cardiff Rugby club house exclusively and it’s full up! Excellent performance against a very combative Glyneath team. Well done Coach Sean Gale and team

After Wales and the Scarlets this season, LOSING has become a habit.
How do you like your loss...Grilled, baked, Broiled, Steamed, fried microwaved...or any other way????

I HATED losing, both as a player, coach and maybe now even more as a mere supporter.
Not just losses, humiliating losses we have seen recently

Isn't great therefore, to come home today from the Principality stadium, as WINNERS, both for Llandovery and Llanelli Wanderers, so an element of pride in the Region can be restored.

Both teams were far from their best today. Credit however, must go to Glyneath and Merthyr ( tough teams) ,for not only making it difficult, but taking these games to the wire. It was touch and go !
I have never seen Drovers and Wanderers make so many unforced errors , particularly when they had chances in the Red zone.
The difference in the end was tenacity in defence and really hanging in there when the going gets tough. Lessons to be learnt here .
In the Wanderers case , and even though the very effective and dangerous Josh Weeds was the official MOTM, the cool head and incredibly efficient boot of Nick Gale won the day !

WELL DONE TO BOTH TEAMS!

Indeed! Mind you I was deaf in one year with Pimps’ shouting out understandably , next to me in frustration by Wanderers efforts 😉We certainly put pressure on ourselves, but it was a good game to watch  and a tense final few minutes to seal a win 🏆

I assume all the profits just went to Cardiff. It was packed on a quiet Sunday. I was on the bus £10 return so a bargain and dropped off right outside the main entrance.

Can I respond to Ladram's POINT HIGHLIGHTED ABOVE REGARDING COACHES INSTILLLING, BELIEF, UNITY AND PRIDE.
This is unequivocally true, and the proof of the pudding is what Sean Gale has  ingrained in his Wanderers team a steel which is mirrored by another robust character from the front row union Toby Booth and what he has achieved . I would love to se this more readily on display at Parc with Scarlets !
Sean has over 260 games for Llanelli/Scarlets, but also has 18 years of coaching Narberth, making them now ,one of the best teams in the championship(west). He is organised and incredibly thorough, and has clear demands from what he wants from his team. Usually gets it !
Do'nt forget , his father was welsh international Norman Gale, and his uncle Byron Gale, two incredibly hard men. Norman was also very shrewd, and would often be seen poring over a whiteboard ,with my dad in his office at Trostre wks, discussing tactics and manoeuvres....two coaches together !

In fairness Scarlets Albert Van Den Berg, has adopted the Wanderers as his "community club" and been helping with the line out preparation and skills for a while.
It may be working better for the wanders than the Scarlets, as Wanderers hardly lost a line out ,on their own throw, and burgled several of Glyneaths throws...which proves that something is working.
He was also there on Saturday supporting Sean and the boys, which is great to see.

Yes coaches have a profound influence, and just like teaching, there can be some effective and some ineffective coaching.
A coach cannot play the game for the team , in which individual error of lack of judgement may prevail, But he can influence hugely the way the team plays together as a unit , both in defence and attack,
Not only that technical approach however, but the coach can embroider a total  resolve and an undying spirit, that "we will not be beaten" in his team, which makes them difficult opponents even when they are not always winners every game.

Like you Pimp I am convinced that strong leadership skills and man management are lacking in our Head Coach sadly and helping to create the malaise in the squad and lets hope that the new Performance person can help on these items although unless this person is actually rugby manager of the Head Coach (which doesn't seem to be the case) they will need to get on and work very well together or, it could well end up in friction between two ego's and disunity, all caused by a fudge to keep the new MD happy. Charting out how these these two roles will function in practice when you add on the pressures in these jobs anyway, could be very challenging. Interesting, that the one Welsh applicant that has applied hasn't coached for 15 years (that's spookingly about  when 72 year old Gareth Jenkins stopped!) And so it means that Dai Young hasn't applied when you think he might have a look at it as a way back to the pro game.
