Here's the minutes ftrom our Board's meeting with Scarlets manangement last Thursday evening.

Apologies to members not getting them first but we are having problems yet again in sending multiple e-mails out.
Pease note that the meeting was held before the WRU's response to RRW so this section has been overtaken by recent events.

Crys16 Meeting with Scarlets management 10.07.2014. 5.30pm

In attendance: Jon Daniels, Mark Davies, Barrie Jones, Neil Bathgate, Ian Lewis, Owain Davies, Cerion Herbert.

RRW/WRU update: Following constructive meetings with Warren Gatland covering the rugby side of the services agreement RRW put forward an amended version to the WRU and as of the 10.07.14 is awaiting a response to the latest draft.

Coaching update: Wayne Pivac’s visa complications have been resolved and the region are hopeful he’ll arrive within the next 10 days.

As with players the region can’t comment on individual staff which includes coaches but they can advise that there has been interest in all the coaching group over the past 3 years. The club always has succession planning in place to mitigate any changes and the club are comfortable with the current situation and the situation moving forward for the season.

Squad update: The squad is finalised for next season and NWQ quota’s won’t have any negative impact on the current squad.

Fixtures: Fixture dates and times remain outstanding with ongoing dialogue with the TV companies and league. Fortunately the Scarlets match day and time preferences differs with the majority of teams in the Guinness Pro12 so the region will push for Saturday matches. The Scarlets have also asked broadcasters to give serious consideration to televising away matches rather than home. Whilst this is not straightforward all parties have been receptive to the possibility but no agreement has yet been reached.

Kit Launch: The date of the kit launch will be confirmed within the next week with a different format for the event planned to previous seasons. Also the kit that will be worn at the Premiership Rugby 7’s won’t be the kit for the 2014/15 season as it will only be an interim kit for this event. The home kit will be launched first with the away kit launched at a later date.

The Scarlets shop is now run by Kooga and as a result the town centre shop will be used in conjunction with the Red Room rather than as a designated shop but the Red Room will sell some merchandise. The online store will also be open imminently.

The Scarlets are also working on a brand new website which will be launched in the coming season.

Season ticket update: Early indicators are positive but a clearer picture will be known at the end of the early bird period (18th July). The Scarlets and Crys 16 are urging all fans who have not purchased their 14-15 season tickets to do so before the end of early bird price period.

Shuttle buses: Scarlets are already reviewing the shuttle bus operation and have noted the issues raised by Crys 16 members.

Forthcoming events: The region have had a lot of success in respect of functions and corporate events over the past season and are looking to develop this along with other events over next season.

The additional financial pressure arising from the situation in Welsh rugby has resulted in the region being more cautious over staging events over the past year with any financial risks being minimised. Subject to satisfactory resolution with the WRU the Scarlets are already developing strategies for growth in all areas of non matchday sales.

The region also confirmed that the Barn can be used for concerts and there are no limitations in respect of concerts only being feasible in afternoons.

Ta very much!

Disappointed that there won't be any more signings, we look light in a few areas however, given the uncertainties it is understandable!

The Scarlets have asked can away fixtures be televised instead? How ridiculous is that???? Obviously to try to get the crowds on but doesn't that apply to all teams? So on that assumption every team want their away games televised. So what games don't get televised. Nonsense statement from the Scarlets. 😂😂😂😂

I think that is more to do with BBC and S4C as they do insist on showing almost every home Welsh region game and not many away games

Not sure but I am not as keen on Saturday matches as some on here are. There are a load of potential supporters playing rugby on a Saturday, which is why I think 3pm Saturday kick offs aren't half as attractive as some suggest.
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

Why don't you turn up at the AGM and pass on your well informed opinions to the people who actually run the place and might have the inside track on these things.
It's not always about where you end up, it's about how you get there.

Exactly , look at the Edinburgh game , played at 3 Pm on a Saturday last season and just 5500 showed up, pretty sure that was our lowest attended match all season

Indeed it is Scarletrules, plus the broadcasters are potentially sharing facilities next season so theoretically say we're playing Treviso and there TV cameras from Italy there S4C or BBC may be able to air the programme with commentary coming from the uk.

It's not as simple as SA14 suggests, takes a little bit of thought.

Also on some weekends there's 2 Saturday slots.

Inside track? Expecting us to be the priority team and not having our home games televised?

Couldn't you have least made the effort to read the rest of the posts on the thread?

Context just passes you by.

You can't grasp that games at Parc y Scarlets would be televised by BBC Alba/RTE/Italian TV, whilst our broadcasters would show the games away from home.

Read Gate 12's post again.
