Am I also the only one who thought Finau was a poor player, initially using his power to brush opponents out of the way, but as opposition players got to know him he became less and less successful. And his lack of pace a real liability on a par with his straight arm tackling.

not sure about him as a wing/15, doubt he has any sort of kicking game, ever been tested under a high ball or ever played there before no doubt he could give it a whirl.

He is clearly a talented guy, aussie schools rugby union player (centre), top class RL player possibly someone the ashtrays or the blues could go after.

They need a centre more than us

This. I was already thinking this. The main worry i have is are we going to accommodate Regan in some sort of coaching pathway. Given the announcement of Stevo as our attack coach.

We've got backs coaches coming out of our ears, but if Pivac is doing so many other things and Phil John is only a scrumaging coach then maybe it's a full time forwards coach that would be the best value for money.

So to summarise:

We've had a Rebels prop training with us
We've started recruitment earlier this season
Barclay had a role in DTH recruitment
A new conditioning coach has joined
No further recruitment at outside half
Delve is too expensive
Emyr is available for Edinburgh

Any more info much appreciated!!

Diolch Llandre. Our forwards are definitely improving on an individual basis, but I get the impression that other sides, particularly the Irish ones, seem to be better organised as a group, and this is apparent when they are camped in our 22 and rarely return without any points.

He has been very impressed with Lewis Rawlins and couldn't praise him enough. He reckons Jack Payne, Wyn Jones and Ryan Ellias are really going to be players to keep an eye out for. He really wants players fighting for their positions..

He didn't mention his name. Could be a youngster. He gave that out there for us nutters on here to try and work out who he is. He has real.dry wit and was as open and candid as he could be.

Thanks llandre. Like you said, could be a youngster. Seems like our scouting system is working down in southern hemisphere (assuming that the lad is welsh qualified).

In a general sense he was as open and candid as he could be. For obvious reasons some things could not be divulged. Both him and Hayward came over really well they both seem.to be singing of the same hymn sheet. They seem to get on really well together

There seems to be a good relationship between us and Gatland and Co. Howley has been down on numerous occasions to training sessions etc. Pivac talks to them frequently but has stopped buying Roger Lewis a cornett anymore !!!

Simon struggled with the 'public face ' of the job and plainly didnt enjoy it naturally and Pivac has got a strong presence and confidence. Lets hope for a big run in to 5-6 spot. Finding the odd WQ overseas is also excellent stuff. Mind you look at Tomas ? at Exeter -another possible gem. They are still out there-sending Gareth out to Patagonia searching  for few massive Welsh qualified South American style forwards next I hope? LOL

Tyson Frizelll has been playing phenomenal rugby league this season. He's an athlete in his prime. Not sure within budget though.
