Ive never been an Apple supporter...but steve Jobs was a great visionary , but like so many others (Hitler comes to mind) His methods ignored so many basic needs of the ordinary person...But i would liked to have met him , just to speak to him in general , just to see the real guy...Rip steve...I am so glad that he saw the great years of Apple, and i suppose hes lucky that he died at the beginning of the demise of Apple , and the Rise of Android......The King is Dead ..Long live the king

I have yet to meet a senior Manager who inspires me. I have worked for the most selfish, self centered, idiots who care only for their attainment and status.

"Jobs returned to his previous job at Atari and was given the task of creating a circuit board for the gameBreakout. According to Atari founder Nolan Bushnell, Atari had offered $100 for each chip that was eliminated in the machine. Jobs had little interest in or knowledge of circuit board design and made a deal with Wozniak to split the bonus evenly between them if Wozniak could minimize the number of chips. Much to the amazement of Atari, Wozniak reduced the number of chips by 50, a design so tight that it was impossible to reproduce on an assembly line. According to Wozniak, Jobs told Wozniak that Atari had given them only $700 (instead of the actual $5,000) and that Wozniak's share was thus $350"

You don't like Apple I take it?

Just a question, why do people say they don't like Apple products? Some act as if they're the devils invention. I can understand some preferring an android phone to an android one but what about mp3 players? Is it such a big deal you have to put all your music on using iTunes?

It's not that i dont like Apple stuff, i actually do, but they are branded as expensive desirables. The iphone is priced double to it's competitors, even though a Samsung Galaxy is a far better allround product. When the iphone was losing it's reception as a phone, it was losing its prime objective as a mobile phone.
The iphone and the ipad and stuff like that are really good for moving the world forward, but the pricing is nuts tbh.

Fair comment about the pricing. It's like designer clothes in that respect.

er yeah. They don't play wma and other formats. My entire CD collection was in wma?!

But of course that would have been fine had I bought an apple mac to transfer them to diital music.

I don't like Apple for a number of reasons. Mainly because once you're "in", you have to abide by their standards.

Example: A colleague in work recently bought the newest iPhone, turned the phone on, "you have to sync with iTunes" before he could even use the damn thing. So gets on his iMac and opens iTunes and plugs the iPhone in, "you have to upgrade iTunes before using this device".

Downloads the latest version of iTunes, run installer, "This version of iTunes is not compatitible with OS X 10.3". So now we've got to the point where he has to upgrade his computer's operating system just to use his phone and if legitimate, spend more money.

Other than that, all I feel Jobs and Apple have done is claim to have created something new and innovative when other products that do the same have been out before it.

iPad = glorified Tablet PC which have been available for years.

Ok fair comments. It was a genuine question btw. Looking at the pros and cons of changing my phone. iPhone is winning ATM.

Taking a neutral standpoint, I'd imagine there's not much between Android and iPhone.

Yes you can get the Scarlets app on iPhone not Android... but I'm happy I can get Minecraft on Android which isn't available on iPhone, it's all about personal needs based on very similar products.
