My favourite current golfer is Rory McIlroy. Despite playing shots I could only dream of he also has that very human touch when he plays some shots I have. Always gives real interviews whether he's played good/bad.

Watched him playing a 3 hole play off with J.J. Spaun at TPC Sawgrass on Monday to win the Players Championship for the 2nd time, only the 6th person ever to win it twice. At 35 he has been winning PGA tournaments regularly since he was 19 - 28 to date - as well as countless tournaments Worldwide.

For me he will go down in history as one of the greatest golfers ever to play the game - alongside Nicklaus & Tiger. Not bad for a lad from Northern Ireland even he does support Ulster. He ain't finished yet!!!!!

I'm desperate for him to win the Masters next month. Love the guy, very humble & as you say refreshingly honest in interviews.

Would be great if he did. As you say a humble guy who in the world of faceless sports stars who follow the pc route more often than not he says it as he feels it & shows when he's hurting. Gave a fantastic interview last year after another tournament win which meant he had matched his great idol Seve & he was so overcome talking about the great man that he couldn't continue.

Yeah I did see that, it was emotional.

Just needs to get his putting game as best he can & he will have a shot.
