We live in a three dimensional world. We can travel forward and back, left and right, up and down. Physicists wrongly call time the fourth dimension. What they actually mean is that time is four dimensional. If we carry on travelling through time in three dimensions then eventually we can find the point at which we started.
 
The clues that we did create ourselves are there in DNA, Pi, The shape of shells/Fibonacci numbers and we will figure out eventually how to get back to the start. We were created in god's own image as god is just life evolved as much as it can.
 
There, I've just proved the shape of the universe, the existence of god, intelligent design, time travel and a whole host of other stuff.

But you didn't say that the answer was 42.
