Just thought of this

A few weeks back O's were playing ulster they had a prop in the bin til the end of the game and ulster had a 2nd row in the bin.

O's were 5 down with about 2mins to go and had a scrum on ulsters line. They brought on a prop and took a back off givving them a numerical advantage in the scrum again at a crucial point in the game.

Surely this cant be legal you would have to swap a forward off otherwise its pointlesnpunishing the front row.....

A yellow card is designed to disadvantage the team .. Front row is tge only position where this "player sacrifice" can occur. If you look at it another way, the penalised team are still down to 14 men, had they not replaced the prop, scrums would more than likely gone uncontested so numerical advantage would be voided anyway.

They could change the rules to say that when a prop comes on for a sin binning then another forward has to be sacrificed.

Swings & roundabouts really !

A couple of weeks ago, people were up in arms over the number of law changes I personally don't think that a Law change of this nature would impact the game significantly..

Statistically, most scores against a side that has been disadvantaged through a sin bin, have come through backs being unable to number up in defence, when a scrum is reduced to 7, generally one of the backs bolsters it up when defending in the (non-existent) "Red Zone" (as Foxy did a few weeks ago when Rob Evs got binned) !
