Amid the decline of Welsh rugby, here is something to raise a little smile. Nantgaredig, a village team in Carmarthenshire lying in Division 3 West A, beat Sweden by a 41-point margin! Just shows the severe disparities that still exist in world rugby between the traditional powers and everyone else.

(The one point about the article that did make me cringe, however, was the line about Wales being more of a 'heartland' for rugby than New Zealand. LOL!)

What this proves is the big gap that still exists between, let's say, the top sixteen rugby nations - Six Nations + Rugby Championship + Japan, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Georgia and Romania - and everyone else.  Certainly, the gap is much bigger than in football, which except maybe in Oceania and the Indian Subcontinent is genuinely popular and competitive throughout the world in a way that probably won't ever be the case with rugby.

There's a long list of 'non-achievements mate..

Been in a Lions tour?
Nope but me and No 1 have.

Pulled on the fabled Coch a Gwyn for the senior Emlyn team?
Fail.

It's a litany of misses.
