The man o war isnt immortal but is said to sting like heck, is there any particular reason why pembrey attracts  so many jellyfish

Interesting link!

I read somewhere that jellyfish aren't a 'single animal', but some sort of collection (a collective? LOL) of cells, or whatever... Biology isn't my specialist subject, but maybe that is linked to this story in some way.

As for Aberystwyth - we had some jellyfish earlier in the year (not PMoW type) but haven't seen any for a while - we got a couple of dead seals, though - had to keep the dog away from those!

(I should have said - I think from observation - not from a scientific paper - that jellyfish get stranded more easily on flat, sandy beaches rather than sloping, pebbly ones - hence Pembrey - or Borth - rather than Aberystwyth or similar.)

My wife got stung, once, by a PMoW in Cannes - it took her 6 moths to recover - the rash would seem to disappear, only to come back again. Very painful and unpleasant.

Cannes eh ? very posh LOL

We lived in a 16m2 studio together for 18 months, before moving to Paris. Try that, and tell me it's posh!
Eh, Luxoory - We lived for three months in a brown paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six o'clock in the morning, clean the bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down mill for fourteen hours a day week in-week out. When we got home, our Dad would thrash us to sleep with his belt!

Unlike your comment, mine was actually 100% true and accurate.
