Was this the one from near our own line that resulted in the Liam yellow? I don't feel there was much wrong with kick there as he found space, plus looks like it was Liam and George outside him who don't generally kick.

8) 68 minutes - Halaholo in front of the kicker, penalty to them and we were back under pressure

yes he had a load of space there and the ref was playing an advantage anyways, he could have run another 15 yards unopposed to passed to liam who could have cleared from the edge of the 22 to touch beyond halfway line....liam has a good boot on him...this may have slowed things down.

PAUL WILLEMSE WILL miss France’s Six Nations title-decider against Scotland in Paris on Friday after being given a two-game ban following his red card against Wales last weekend.

Second row Willemse saw red 13 minutes from time when, trying to pull Wyn Jones away from a ruck, he grabbed the Wales prop round the back of the head.

As Jones fell backward, Willemse’s fingers slid over his eye.

He was sent off by English referee Luke Pearce at the Stade de France following a video review.

Wales, however, were subsequently reduced to 13 men following two yellow cards and France came from behind to win 32-30, with full-back Brice Dulin’s added-time try sealing a stunning victory that denied the Welsh a Grand Slam.

A Six Nations statement issued after a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday said Willemse accepted he had committed an act of foul play, in making contact with the eye area.

But the disciplinary committee decided there was insufficient evidence that Willemse had made contact with the eye itself.

They determined the 28-year-old South Africa-born lock “had acted recklessly and not intentionally”.

As there was no evidence of injury to Jones, the committee found the offence warranted a low-end entry point of four weeks.

But they cut the suspension in half to two weeks after also taking into account his guilty plea and remorse.

That seems entirely fair and balanced. It was a red card - he should not have had his hand/fingers anywhere near Wyn's eyes - but it wasn't deliberate gouging.

Like SQ said on Sunday, Galthie was just trying to influence the disciplinary panel to put doubt in their mind and get his player off the charge and free to play on Friday night, fortunately it’s failed and he’s received a 2 week ban.

Yeah the Galtie comments were v annoying, the only salty story out of what was a brilliant game.

I think you could argue that the fingers in the eye were accidental, but Wyn Jones doesn’t know that - he just knows someone’s fingers are pulling at his eye socket - so has every right to draw the officials attention to it.

I also read that Sean Edwards mother died last week, so he had little involvement with preparing for the game. So sad for him. In the report he still sounded so appreciative of his time and the people of Wales. I hope he knows it’s reciprocated.

Yes sad news for shaun edwards, his mother was a huge supporter of his and always encouraged him to try rugby union.

Failed? 2 weeks is astounding for what he did.
