Almeida in second place at 18 secs iirc isn’t a top time-trialler.

Tomorrow’s flat stage will be the only respite to the finish with 3 big mountain stages to follow.

Gloves are coming off for sure. Geraint is looking strong. Don't think much will change today but then we will have some real tricky stages where attacks will be made.

Well done Geraint on his 37th birthday. Held off an attack from Roglic & retains his 29 second margin. Another pretty brutal mountain stage today followed by a time trial on Saturday. G will hope to still have that lead at close of business today. Good luck Geraint.

A headline I read said G had extended his lead and a picture of Roglic was there. Automatically, I imagined he’d widened the gap to Roglic. No, just Almeida dropping to third and G’s gap to Roglic unchanged.

Can’t see G attacking unless near the very end of the stage. He’d fancy defending a 29 secs advantage on Roglic in the time trial.

Brutal was spot on Mr Ian. Fantastic scenery unfolded as the riders fought their way up to the mountain top finish. Geraint held his nerve and takes a 26 second lead into the deciding time trial today.

Any idea of the scheduled start times of the top 3?

EDIT

10th place starts just after 1545 UK time and G starts at 1614. Shout out to Mr Ian’s favourite rider Damiano Caruso in 4th at 1705 CET

Surprised that G’s domestiques are in 7th and 10th.

Having absolutely minimal interest in the Premiership Final, this should be gripping stuff ahead of the URC Final

Congrats to Roglic. Sympathy and everything associated with that to G.

Roglic overcame a mechanical - chain came off on the steep section - to win by 14 seconds overall and to take the stage win.

When it came to it, he had more left in the tank on the last day. You’d have thought the mechanical would’ve given G the win. Yet, Roglic defied all that and rode superbly.

Might make Pogacar, Vingegaard, Evenepoel etc sit up and recalibrate.

Last week ROG from La Rochelle.

This week ROG from Slovenia.

Anyone help identify next week’s ROG?

Gutted for Geraint but hats off to Roglic for a fantastic effort. Geraint admitted his legs went about 1.5 kms from the top. Such a sportsman in defeat - a great ambassador for Wales.
