Fantastic victory in the Giro for Britain's Simon Yates. He's taken an unassailable lead on the penultimate stage going from third to first. Brilliant. Clap

Absolutely fantastic effort from Yates & his teammates. He attacked on the tortuous final 19 km climb & blew the opposition away.

Watching the highlights yesterday, it was a masterstroke and somewhat surprising that Del Toro and Carapaz couldn’t agree to work together to chase him. The Times said that it was the fastest ascent of the Col de Finestere and beat Froome’s time from 2018 when he won the Giro after Simon Yates ran out of energy on the last 2 mountain stages.

Bravo the boy from Bury (not St Edmunds)!
