3rd major of the year. Scheffler is the man to beat. After a quiet start to the season by his lofty standards he is back winning. Rory is all over the place with his new driver which is not where you want to be with the layouts usual found for US Opens which involve very narrow fairways with pretty penal rough closeby. 

If he doesn't get his driver working he will struggle to make the cut. Best European chance for me - Shane Lowry.

Can't see past Scheffler myself. His unflustered demeanour & accuracy tee to green give him a great chance on what is being described as a monster of a course. No sit back & smell the azelias this week folks - just unerring accuracy tee to green.

Anything under par in Sunday in with a great chance.

Not much better than Ladram Wil but at least your pick should be there at the weekend as forecast cut comes at 7 over. Only 3 players under par & the course is apparently playing at its easiest. Shocked
