We should take our wine and form an alternative drinking alliance | Well, this inexhaustible high end wine cellar endurance test is a huge step up on any local gravy train that’s been around for a while.

Very droll! I assume you have a notion of the prices, but for those who don't:
https://www.wineinvestment.com/learn/wine/bordeaux/pomerol/chateau-petrus/petrus/
(Comfortably more than 100x the price per case/bottle of any wine I drink! )

If it’s on your bucket list, it must be a big bottle.

Aber,
Many thanks for the link to Petrus prices. Do you get most of your wine when in France and bring it back?
Astonishing how much they command now. Considering it was all a huge marketing coup by the owner who stuck to stars in the Paris entertainment scene, films etc, like glue. The wine is probably little different from other good Pomerols.
It’s much more fun finding inexpensive unknown wines that are great.
The difference good marketing makes is enormous.
Which brings us back to HOL and their marketing prowess…..
