So his wife has named him , but has he broken the law , the police say no ...so what is going to happen to the sun newspaper ....mental health issues are allways bad ..and often worse for the family .....I think it's time that scum press need to be disposed of ....sun , telegraph , times , express and mail need to be investigated and disposed of ..then the people can hear the truth

The Sun is now trying to justify its odious actions of criminality by trying to dredge up anything to denigrate the man. What a rag it is.

The apparently the Sun didn't indicate that the person (not specified at y time of publication) had broken the  law.
The very nature of the way this obscene comic operates however, its guilty by "association ."They have printed no facts yet, and as far as we know, have none
Sadly it speaks volumes for the level of intelligence for those individuals who part with their money to read it.

This is the publication, that denigrated the miners in the 80's , facing the dismantling of their industry and communities. It condemned completely innocent Liverpool fans at Hillsborough ,brandishing them as "thugs", when we know the police were responsible for that tragic fiasco. The senior police officer David Duckenfield made appalling judgements, but has escaped justice.
This disgraceful rag, is seeing is sales falling and has had to pay out sizable damage payments, due to phone hacking, so is desperate to generate sales.

Did they contact the young person at the centre of this tragedy, for her side of the story ..no !
It is therefore a one sided story, and anyone telling their story to the Sun, must be viewed with an element of suspicion

We need to hear what Huw Edwards has to say, before forming any judgements.
If has been unwise, but acted within the law, its for the BBC his employer to deal with, and of course 
the major thing is his family, and how they deal with it.

My overwhelming feeling however is of immense saddens, there are no winners here only losers!
Huw Edwards is a hugely respected man, proud Welshman, and a famous son of Llangengech.
He has been at the top of the current affairs for TWO DECADES, and has been the very voice of the BBC at huge events and state occasions.
Huw may be very well paid, but the pressure of his he has been under for a sustained period, must be immense. 
If he felt his mental health slipping, and surely should have stepped back , to protect himself.
Sadly  he is possibly now paying the price, with the current allegations exacerbating the situation.

Mental health is a huge problem in todays society and its something you cannot fully appreciate, unless you have experienced it yourself.
i have had first hand experience, both with a close friend, and my mother, and its awful.

i wish Huw a speedy recovery and my thoughts are for his family, and the young person, caught up in this story

The Sun's vitriol about the BBC has no guard rails.

The BBC leadership are passive beyond measure, and clearly unfit to meet the modern day needs of being a major tax funded player in the media space. Caught cold, off guard, and directionless.

Huw has been really silly here, no doubt on that, and no doubt his state of mind was unbalanced, but everything else is theatre brought on by the Sun's vitriol.

My thoughts are with him, his wife ( who, despite the context, stood up for his wellbeing) and his kids.

I'm sure all sorts of spurious accusation from disgruntled former employees or those with a vendetta will come out. That just adds to the stupidity of this.

Regardless this is not a stain on any one person, entity or party, more on humanity itself.

Well said Wil. I second my total support for Huw's family. I wish him a speedy recovery & look forward to him putting the record straight once he is able. Big respect to his wife.

you can’t dispose of the press this isn’t nazi germany, no one forces people to buy thiese papers. If they are printing lies edwards can sue them for libel. As for edwards i do feel sorry for his family. As for huw  he is a grown man responsible for his own actions .  I don’t judge him that is not my place but neither do i feel sympathy for him.

Second what GPR has said...wise words from him( and GPR).Its great that these two guys wise words aren't restricted to cricket.

On reflection  today, it's nauseating,  that we have a despicable comic like the Sun operating in the mainstream  of our society. 
It's done so much damage, hurt so many people over the years...in the name of the truth ??
It wouldn't  know the truth if it was slapped  it's face...but IT WOULDN'T CARE, as the truth matters little to the Sun !

The  Sun for many years paid girls as young as 16 for intimate photographs which it used for commercial gain.

The name of the papers doesn't matter , what the point here is that truths are being ignored and selective people control what we hear ...Fox news is a prime example of what can go wrong when lies are continuously being spouted , which turned extremists into a mob to destroy the fabric of a country
