Perhaps it may be a good idea for the coaching team to have an alternative 23 training alongside the SA selection this week as they are probably going to need a rest after two , how shall I put this, tough games. This team is selected with the 2023 clearly in mind & does not feature any of the starting 23 last weekend.

15. Jonah Holmes 14. Protheroe 13. Watkin 12. Scott (C) 11. Rio Dyer 10. Costelow 9. Aled Davies
1. Rob Evans 2. Ifan Phillips 3. Samson 4. RHys Davies 5. Ben Carter 6. Will Griffiths 7. Jac Morgan 8. James Ratti

16. Taylor Davies 17. Rhodri Jones 18. WGJ 19. Morgan Jones 20. Thomas Young 21. Blacker 22. Sam Davies 23. Kieran Williams.

Looks / sounds like the injury list from Saturday isn’t as bad as the NZ game.

Fiji are no mugs, we can’t be putting out a 2nd team. That said I don’t think it’s obvious who Wales’ best players are in each position - so a 2nd team isn’t really a 2nd team.

Australia is an important game psychologically for this squad, so I’d rest a couple of key players for that one but generally I think Pivac should pick as many of his best players vs Fiji as he can.

15 Liam
14 LRZ
13 Halaholo
12 Jonny Williams
11 Lane
10 Priestland
9 Tomos Williams
8 Elis Jenkins
7 Taine Basham
6 Seb Davies
5 Will Rowland
4 Adam Beard
3 WGJ
2 Elias
1 Carre

Adams I think is key to rest, while also giving Liam minutes to see if he’ll be up for the Australia game.

Then I think the pack needs to be the strongest pack we’ve got (resting Wyn and Francis and then it looks like Wainwright’s out)

Completely forgot Sheedy even existed lol

Fairly decent team, can’t really see the point in trying Cuthbert vs Lane but maybe Pivac sees in training how Cuthbert has improved and how he might add value to this squad going forward

Agreed but he is a good enough player for Cardiff so probably deserves another chance to see if he can step it up.

not sure what the point of having Adams play 13 is. He's clearly never going to be a centre once everyone is fit, so why not play an actual centre there.

World Cup preparation, apparently - lots of squad players will need to cover more than one position, & Pivac & Co have been waiting for an opportunity to try Josh at 13.

Very interesting aka picking North in Centre and he can play full back so a very useful test for him especially tackling the flying  Fijians !

Wales' resources at 13 are pretty limited. We do not have young guns from recent 20's Internationals knocking the door down to play. Take North out of the equation, he played 13 very well last 6 nations by the way, & we are left really with only Foxy & Scott who could be classed as genuine International standard 13's & Scott I would imagine prefers 12 - my opinion only.

Trying Adams there is a good idea in my book - it would have been between him & Lane from my point of view. Apparently Jonny Mac has some 1st class experience at 13 but i don't recall seeing him there.
