Congratulations to Lando on winning the F1 Championship.
Hard season battling with Piastri with Verstappen coming back very strongly at the tail end of the season. He’s not everyone’s cup of tea and, personally, I’d have preferred to see George Russell in a better car but those are the cards drivers are dealt. Who knows what the new regulations in 2026 bring and there will be 5 Brits on the grid next year (6 if you include Albion, as a British national). The winter testing will show us what the next generation cars will do but I’d be very surprised if Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes aren’t the front runners. It’ll be interesting, as well, to see what an Adrian Newey designed Aston can do. |

Well done to Norris. I have a sneaky feeling that Aston will be the front runner next year, as long as Stroll Jnr diesnt screw up his opportunity in a good car. Alonso, i think, is a far better "older" driver than Hamilton and will do well too.

Excellent season for Mclaren and Norris. He looked dazed and lost for words. I felt a bit sorry for Piastri but his time will come, I think he's the best driver on the grid and so likeable.
Next season Mercedes are supposed to have made big gains already. Look out for Russell. Albon counts himself as Thai I think |

Races under the Thai flag but his passport has him as British, according to Autosport. I’d love to see a competitive Mercedes next year. Antonelli is a star in the making and Russell deserves a better car. |

Great season of formula one. 3 drivers winning 22 races between them and only 2 points separating the top 2 drivers with piastri a very close third.
Next season looks very interesting with a new era of cars. It would be great to see Mercedes competitive again as well as Aston Martin but I wouldn’t like formula one to become too predictable with one manufacturer dominating to the extent the Mercedes did when the rule changes came in during the mid 2010s and they realed off 5 or 6 constructors and driver championships in a row, until ted bull began their dominance. Max (he’s a bit like marmite) is one heck of a driver, just 6 races ago he was 104 points behind Lando and considerably behind piastri too, in a car that he had no right to be competitive in, yet realed off a barnstorming finish to the season to finish 2 points behind the ultimate winner and to finish with more wins than the other 2 title contenders. Roll on season 2026!

In my opinion Formula One is not a sport but a multi million pound engineering competition. Can't see the benefit in it. Won't be accessible to kids in the local comprehensive any time soon.

Can't really get excited by watching cars run in circles with huge difficulty on many tracks to overtake. Indeed I tend to limit my watching to the first few laps as thats when most of the action happens. For sure I can see the technical aspects involved but when a sport has to artificiially manufacture overtaking manouvres by making tyre stops compulsory something is wrong to me.

It’s each to their own, I suppose.
I absolutely detest cricket as it’s unbelievably boring. I also find American sports tedious - American football and baseball. I heard that the Americans are going to put a half-time show in the World Cup Final, as in the Super Bowl. Leave it alone. |

He's obviously a great driver but he'd have been nowhere near the title if it wasn't for both Mclaren cars being disqualified with 2 races to go. That skid block penalty feels like one of those penalties that they wheel out when they want to make it a bit more competitive. Like 'in the side' in rugby union. Happens 15 times a game but is penalsied once sort of thing. |

F1 is hugely physically demanding. You can debate what a sport is.....is hitting a little white ball with a stick a sport? What those guys do in those cockpits is insane. Changing gears, putting pit limiters on and off, adjusting brake bias, talking to race engineers, 5 to 6 Gs of G Force on their necks, losing 5lbs in weight per race. All at 200 mph. In one race at Monaco, there are 3,600 gear changes. May not make it interesting to everyone (I tend to switch off if one team is dominating all the time) but it is incredible what they do. |
