Llanelli wanderers have restored just a smidgeon of dignity in Llanelli rugby, by getting to a rugby final
the WRU div 1 cup on April 7th....which made us very proud!
It was a really hard fought game today.
Facilities at  Blackwood are excellent ,  (a div 2 east club now). The pitch however was a quagmire, considering all the rain we have had, and its a miracle that we had such a compelling contest, and great skills shown by both sides.
Builth are a young side and started like an express train, but fortunately Wanderers repelled this assault on their line with resolute and disciplined defence.
After that Wanderers took control and built a 14 on half time lead , which Nick Gale increased with another pen in the SH.
As the game progressed conditions meant that it became a lottery, with meaningful handling almost impossible, but in fairness to Buith they got a late consolation try, which was deserved for their efforts.
This was an impressive performance from Llanelli Wanderers , showing a high level of skill , discipline and application.
More than anything, its the way that Sean Gale has moulded this side into a really tight , disciplined unit, who contest the breakdown ferociously, and just do the basics well.
He knows that he will need to continue to build for the next level, as promotion, although not a certainty is probable.
What I have seen so far however is mighty impressive..so well done to all !

A final word on grass roots rugby.
Its worrying that games are postponed though teams not being able to fulfil fixtures.
Its worrying that player participation is down.
There is a huge glimmer of hope though when you see what I have witnessed today.
A incredibly well run club(Blackwood) , with really excellent facilities , running many of teams, and at the heart of the community, loads of volunteers.
Two and half thousand people coming together, to support this SF, conducted with good humour and passion.
A game that was a credit to both sides , played hard, but in true sporting tradition of rugby.
Welsh rugby is NOT dead, just struggling and we need to sort it out from the top down
I stood yer on tanner bank
