I was told tonight,That worcester once capped outside half ,matthew jones,
as signed for the scarlets .
Matthew apparently turned down,the blues and the dragons,and is lifelong scarlets fan .
Anyone else heard this,signed on monday ?

Why on earth would we want to sign him?
I could have understood it if we had gone for him a couple of seasons ago when he was a showing some promise. I will believe this when I see it on the Scarlets website. If , unfortunately, this signing does happen, I will be very disappointed.
I simply don't see any space or a role for him with us.

Exactly.
This isn't a slight on Jones. He'd be a reasonable WQ back-up 10. But to sign a mid-career player like him (with the associated salary) as a third-choice 10 is just not sensible and it seems a careless use of money. And if Nigel thinks he's better than Priestland, then Nigel's judgement is all over the shop. Jones is 5"8 and 12-odd stone. It's a very tough job to play 10 at regional level at that size.
Another Pugh signing on many levels.
