Whilst we have to take our hats off to Farrell for making Ireland No 1 in the World rankings someone who has gone a little under the radar is Mike Catt. The quality of Ireland's passing, identifying of space and general manipulation of defences has improved off the scale. Their back row can take huge credit for producing speed of ball but Catt has them attacking better than any other nation at the moment.

He was the turning point against wales in 2003 when we were on top.

Had Stephen Jones kicked his kicks in first half,  8 points he missed nothing Catt could have done would have saved England and Johnny would have been just another quite good English flyhalf

Presumably when he missed that first penalty the game restarted with a drop out 22 rather than a half way drop out, so the game would’ve panned out completely differently. You can’t say we would’ve had another 8 points.
