Morning all,
Bit of a long shot, but Dad passed away recently and we are trying to figure out if he had a pension with Morris Motors, he worked there a good while back but we are struggling to find any info on who might now run the historical pension schemes that used to belong to Morris motors. Any help would be appreciated Nasha

There is also the Pension Tracing Service and there I used to be the National Association of Pension Funds, although whether that still exists I’m unsure.
I’d be surprised if you got a quick answer from the FCA and think you’re better to start at the Pension Regulator. There’s also the Pension Ombudsman that might offer some help re tracing, although probably a last resort. A reverse trace via the bank that used to send the payments is also a possibility. Plus you could try British Leyland, part of the Rover Group, as they may well have someone that can help after all the takeovers.

There may be differences between what would be paid if treated as a death in deferment or late payments plus appropriate interest for not having paid the retirement pension at all. Be prepared to ask what the options are for correcting the situation before agreeing to the first suggestion that they come up with. In case the scheme failed at some point in its existence, the benefits might have been picked up by the Pension Protection Fund. Their website should have a list of schemes for which they are responsible.
