Cheers Randelan, the lad is a work mate of mine, so I'm having to keep an extra eye out on the RFC this season to see how he is getting on.

Yeah Jonathan Rogers played. After a dodgy start (after coming on for Jak Evans after 20 mins who had a belter of a black eye) where he kicked badly but he settled down and when the RFC had a better platform second half looked very sharp and was a great link between forwards and backs.

Definately one to keep on eye on I'd say.

Some great tackling by Owain Morgan which included a beaut of a hit on Narberth's south sea Island back rower and a very good debut by young Osian Davies at 7 were worth a mention up front. As were Torin Myhill second half and Pows as usual made a differance when he came on.

Steff Evs beating the first man with ease as usual before getting yellow carded and showing great pace as did Josh Adams who was 'really' sharp on the wing when he came on.

Decent display by Morris at 10 and Richard Thomas went well at centre, big unit.

As was said we struggled in the scrum first half, and there were a few missed tackles, but all in all a good blow out for the boys.

Good luck to the boys playing in the 7's on Sunday.

Sounds good! Hoped to get down there but was also unable. Did they have any good boys worth looking at? The management obviously recruited much from Tenby for this season.

NARBERTH FRIENDLY
By LRFC | 21/08/2014

Llanelli travelled to play Championship side Narberth in a pre-season friendly and got off to a flyer with young full back Steffan Evans crossing the home try line twice within the first 10 minutes. New signing Stu Morris who was in fine form all night converted both.

Narberth’s most impressive runners, captain Steve Martin and full back Johnny Morgan both scored a try apiece and with fly half Ianto Griffiths converting both, the first half finished all square.

Both sides made several changes during the second period and entertained the large crowd. Llanelli’s newbie Roy Osborn, playing in the second row scored an excellent individual try as the Premiership side ran in a further four tries from centre, Richard Thomas, prop Rhys Thomas, wing Josh Adams and openside Osian Davies who put a great shift in on his debut. Man of the match Stu Morris converted three and Gareth Walters also converted one.

Nick Gale rounded off the scoring for the home team with a good try and a touchline conversion, which proved to be a good run out for both teams.

We wish Narberth the very best for the season in the Championship and thank you for the hospitality on such a beautiful summer evening.

Narberth 21 – 47 Llanelli RFC
