Surely they can find a wing within their region who can do the job? They released Hewitt…
Anyone know why Hewitt went from being a highly praised, by some, international winger to surplus to requirements?

1 Josh Adams is 1 year younger and owned 1 International winger berth for years.
2 knee injuries ended Ashton's rugby career

[/QUOTE]Ah!

Thanks for that. I’d missed the news his knee(s) had been so seriously damaged.

Holz, Van Der Merwe, Lousi, Douglas, Taylor, and Anderson say Hi. Wink

I know this is tongue in cheek... but it's not hard to find a winger in your region and the stakes are much lower. As another poster said, recruit in areas of weakness. We only recruited those guys because the cupboard was bare of the quality needed.

Plus, and I admit I've got a bit lost on the rules for this now, but couldn't Taylor and Anderson count as time-serves given their age?

I think they should be looking at Tomi Lewis, he's as good as any other winger we have, but he's not getting the opportunities, if I were him I'd jump at the chance. Get back into Wales reckoning.

In URC transfer news, Benetton have signed an Argentinian player from Patagonia called Gonzalo Hughes.

What a name.

Send Cubby out there to find some WQ players πŸ˜…

The thought of Cubby roaming the pastures of Patagonia is frankly frightening. We may never get him back........

Loosen the criteria. As long as they’re experienced the joys of a Welshcake they can play πŸ˜‚

Wonder if the Domachowski story from last week still has legs. With Hepburn linked with a departure to Edinburgh at the end of this season. It would be good to have an experienced Welsh player at that position to help transition Josh Morse into a starter if all goes well.

Who's the "key ospreys man" we are targeting according to their headline?

Hopefully not Lance Bradley!

(Real answer: Jack Walsh)

Cahill replacing Douglas would be an upgrade at lock (but leaves a gap at 6).
Corey replacing Hepburn might be an upgrade
Walsh would be a needed addition to the squad for depth at 10.

All WQ (or nearly in case of Walsh). That would all be very good business.

Use NWQ slots for another lock to replace Lousi, a ball carrying blindside and potentially a tight head.

Walsh is increasingly used as a fullback for Ospreys.

Backrow is hopefully covered through academy. Kossuth, Williams, etc. Blindside surely a spot we can have a local or WQ player in. I like Douglas and Taylor but it’s hard to justify NWQs on the flank. Up front, lock, or 8 for sure.
