scenario: ball on the floor, a player from each team attempts to slide on the ball, team A player wins the ball, but team B player also on the floor but has not tackled player A. does player B have to roll away or can he just lay there???

It is not a tackle, so no he doen't have to roll away, but he bust not prevent player A from placing the ball.
Before player B can play the ball, he must get to his feet, Player A must release the ball if player B is on his feet with his hands on the ball.
Whilst player B is contesting the ball with player A on the ground, should a team mate of player A enter the contest, a Ruck is called (One or more players from either side, on their feet, contesting for the ball on the ground) & "Hands Away"! Edited by scarletman - 22 February 2009 at 9:37pm |
