This is the 23,I would pick for the blues game .
With mogs waiting to see a specialist, with a groin problem, and nick reynolds, superb try today, and nic cudd superb, and both on top form,on return from, long term injury .
I would have also put dale ford on the bench, but he limpd off, after scoring a superb individual try .
15 dan evans
14 lee williams
13 nick reynolds
12 regan king
11 andy fenby
10 rhys priestland
9 tavis knoyle
1 Iestyn thomas
2 ken owens
3 rhys thomas
4 lou reed
5 damian welch
6 rob gog
8 dai llewod
7 josh turnbull
subs,16,joe ajuwa
17,dan newton
18,gareth maule
19,phil john
20,emyr phillips
21,deacon manu
22,dom day
23,nic cudd
now even with so many players missing, that would be an exciting squad,a team that could take us to an lv semi final .

Fair enough, but ND will I'm sure will keep Higgitt as captain. He has his doubters, but it would be interesting to see him play with King.

There is a semi final to play for next week. Depending on tomorrows games we need to play our strongest 15. Also personally I would be easing the King back into rugby and would be more inclined to give him the last 30 minutes.

I have picked that team on current form, regan needs to start, nick reynolds is on fire is a great runner, and solid in defence .
The selection of nic cudd is also on form,is a tough nut,and if he was introduced,he would be able to compete at the contact area .
Dan was poor tonight, needs to pick his head up and spot the overlaps, when on form outstanding talent, lee also needs to be stronger in defence .

If you are picking on form 157 then there can be no place for Rhys Thomas or King and to a lesser degree Lee Williams or Tavis. Can't agree that Regan needs to start. The guy has played less than 40 minutes in almost a year, I feel he needs to be eased in.

King needs rugby before the more serious Magners game away in Leinster. Must start next week.

Sospan, Tavis was excellent tonoght, the best box kicking all season and kept the ball qwhen snagged around the fringes. Who else 0is there?

Not saying he wasn't good but the guy said picking on form and much as I like Tavis he has only played one game, so he hardly has 'form'. Also Team Wales have not named their scrum halves yet and it's not inconceivable that Rees/Cooper may get the nod and Roberts may be freed

You are only as good as you last game, or so the saying goes. Pick Tav. the way ahead.

Can't see Roberts being released. Gats won't care about our LV cup campaign and Martin has plenty of game time.

Roberts will be in the squad. Richie Rees has never played with Stevo.

I don't think Damian Welch , Rob McCuscker, Phil John, Lou Reed, or Tavis should be given full games unless there are other injuries make it absolutely necessary. They all gave everything tonight and can feel justly proud of themselves. All five of them have taken huge strides froward and with a little more experience can look forward to very bright futures if long as we handle them sympathetically and don't burn them out or play them when carrying injuries. For two consecutive weeks Rob and Damian have played absolute blinders and perhaps they should now be considered to be in first choice 22, regardless of who else is fit.
My first 22 for the Blues match would be quite close to 157cb's but I think I would start with Nick Reynolds and bring on Regan in the second half. It would be a pity if Scott Williams isn't released from U20 duties next weekend as he is a powerful 12 who could probably better deal with poor ball and provide a foil for Regan or Nick. He also plays more in Jon Davies's style so there would be less disruption to our style of play. It's an even greater pity that Ben Morgan and Dale Ford are not 100% fit as they've got huge potential. I would start with Day and Reed in the second row with Welch on the bench, Shingler mawr replacing Rob, who goes to the bench.
As you say 157 Nic Cudd is a tremendous player who does very well whenever he plays for for Llanelli. He deserves a chance to see whether he can improve on Edwards' and Pugh's performance in the breakdown . If not, we would still have Rob and Welch on the bench practising their signatures for signing 3 year contracts.
I'd stick with Lee but try to ensure that our defence doesn't allow big fast wingers so much space to get into their stride near our line where they are almost impossible to stop head on with anything less than a Chieftain tank.
I suppose my bench would then read :- Phil John, Emyr Phillips, Rhys Thomas,Welch, Rob, Tavis, Regan , Ajua with Gareth Davies) starting at 9, Iestyn at 1 and Manu at 3. Higgitt, Maule and Newton will have to fight for Scott Willams' place if Phil Davies will not release him and I'm sure none of them will let us down.

Regan king and rhys thomas need a start,as the blues game is our last game before we travel to leinster in 3 weeks time .
lee needs to start to get some confidence,he as played very little this season .
Agree there omri,it is a pity ben and dale, are not fit for selection .

I'd be disappointed for the boy if he didn't start to be honest. He was excellent against Brive and, as you say, he and Stevo are familiar with each other.

I'd pick a very similar team to last night. Assuming U20s are unavailable,
Dan Evans, Lee W, Higgitt, Maule, Fenby, Priestland, Knoyle
Phil John, Emyr Phillips, Rhys T, Reed, Welch, Shingler, McCusker, Turnbull
Reps
Iestyn, Ken, Manu, Day, Edwards, Newton, King, Ajuwa

I agree on Rhys, but I'm not sure if Regan is up to starting a game yet. He looks like he needs a lot of strength work to get back to peak condiiton. He got bumped backwards in one tackle yesterday that he would've made with ease 12 months ago.
I think it'll be the last few games of the season before we see Regan back to his best.
