The Celtic League has been given a boost with the IRFU falling into line with their Welsh and Scottish unions.

The powerbrokers at Lansdowne Road have agreed to have Ireland's Heineken Cup qualification rankings based on the final standings in the Celtic league.

agree there, everyone thought they'd be the whipping boys of the irish teams

season should be interesting, coupled with the fact that the world cup players are back i think it'll be a totally different league

Still feel sorry for connacht though. dont fully understand the bbc article, dunno if it's lack of coffe but it says: they CAN qualify if they did manage to finish as the highest-ranked Irish team in the Celtic League, as there is a play of bewteen HIGHEST PLACED NON-QUALIFIER and the third-ranked Italian side.  Why do they have to come top of the irish sides?
