We really do need a music section on this forum but never the less.... A thread to promote gigs/events you are attending, I hate missing out on things that come to Cardiff having only found out days or months later by discovering new music.
This week's: Truckers Of Husk + Hunters + Denuo @ Cardiff Arts Institute - Friday 8th April 19:30 - 22:30 £5
Truckers are an instrumental math-rock band from Cardiff with a couple of ex members of Future Of The Left. They recently supported Les Savy Fax and were immense that night. Heared good things about Hunters too.

Use to enjoy going to Barfly when it was open, it was the grubbier place that you'd settle for once it was too late to get into Clwb.
Who've they got lined up there?

The only gig they've announced so far is a thrash metal band from Bristol called Seregon, but I've never heard of them. My understanding is that it's going to be a full time rock/metal bar.

is it music hall? newish place in cardiff where bar risa used to be. by the millenium stadium. theyve had quite big acts both rubbish and good, but never been there. that any good? terrorvision, less than jake, alkaline trio all played there. ICE CUBE IS THERE IN THE SUMMER!!

So far I've seen Alkaline Trio and Yeasayer there, ok venue but once it's rammed the sound doesn't travel very well through it and makes it rubbish if you're toward the back!

Sadly still just rumour but The Sun says it's on. which could mean anything. I hope they do a UK tour and don't just do a one off at Glasto or Hyde Park etc.

I'll be missing Children of Bodom and Amon Amarth at Kentish Town Forum on Saturday and Malevolent Creation at Camden Underworld on Sunday, as I'm Llanelliing it this weekend. I hope the Llanelli RFC v Pooler match will make up for it.

out of interest gary coleman, do you prefer descendents to ALL? or ALL over descendents? there was a time when mass nerder by ALL was constantly played on my stereo, but descendents pip it for me. anyone have any descendents on vinyl?

ye your right i guess.
but theres 6 bands on the list id go and see, so seeing that a gig to them usually costs £10-£15 its decent enough for me i guess.

Django Django are great - saw them in Primavera Sound a few months back.
As for Dry the River, really can't stand them. Lame, boring middle of the road shtick. Still, there'll be a couple of things worth going to in Swn. It's a good drunken Saturday romp around Cardiff if nothing else.

You can almost guarantee they'll be at different venues. As I've just proved with the list above, every band you want to see will be split over different day and without a doubt at different venues.

Saturday wristband is now £26-28 which is too much imo. I'll probably just pay like £4 for each venue I want to see a band in. |
Will you be able to pay at the door to every venue? I NEED to see Tall Ships on the Saturday night.

Yes you can pay at the door of each venue but you need to make sure that it's not full so get there early.

Yeah saw that. Distinctly disappointed by their new album mind. Seen them 6 or 7 times now though so I think I'll save my pennies for something else.
