Ian Brown will have to arrange for hell to be frozen over if it's true. Rumour of new material and 2 huge shows in Heaton Park in Manchester next summer. If they do it cant be as shambloic as their Reading gig (although some of them had gone by then).

That was awful wasn't it. Remember it well! Had to cover my ears, and that's saying something for a Napalm Death fan.

Had to cover my ears when they supported Glassjaw recently, butchered a cover of Nazi Punks F**k Off Cry (I didn't even realise that was possible)

So it's official: there will be two shows at Manchester's Heaton Park on June 29th and 30th, followed by a world tour. And the best bit? The Stone Roses will be playing NEW SONGS!

I think it's to be expected that a Napalm Death cover of any song would be 'butchering' given their 'sound'.
Such a shame; the original Dead Kennedy's version is so carefully composed, so as to bring out the subtle undertones of the instruments and the melancholic inflections of Mr.Biafra's voice.

Got my tickets. There are loads on ebay for way over face value, one of my pet hates because people shouldnt be allowed to buy just to make a profit.

If people buy them at those prices people will sell them. One pair went for over a £1,000!

I don't understand why it is allowed when the ticket t&c states it is illegal. Why isn't this policed?

I don't know mate. The very least they should do is to stop websites like ebay (i like ebay btw) from selling them. The only way to stop it seems would be to have photo id tickets for the bigger concerts, proper pain though.

It will be bedlam if they are!! Should have some decent support bands hopefully. Seen Ian Brown 5 times, great showman, not the greatest voice but he's done alright for himself. Lot's of 'experts' (whatever that means) think Reni is one of the best drummers of all time.

Reni is a good drummer. Not the best of all time though. That goes to Ginger Baker or Stuart Copeland I reckon.

Looking forward to the support announcements to.

Neil Peart of Rush is the finest percussionist i have ever seen, quite breathtaking, Buddy Rich was accepted as one of the greatest drummers ever.
Lars Ulrich from Metallica, Bill Ward Black Sabbath, Cozy Powell superb drummers, but also Steve Gadd, Steve Smith are superb.
I have my own drums and if i had just 1% of these guys talent, i would be chuffed.

Heaton Park this weekend. At the moment i'm more excited about meeting up with some old Uni mates than the actual gig. But I'm sure that will change when monkey man walks on.
