Quins Team Update July 12th.

The coaching staff is continuing to strengthen their squad and have recently acquired the following players:

Trystan Davies – prop (Dragons)

Gareth Robinson – hooker (Carmarthen Athletic)

Rory Gallagher – back row (Aberavon)

Huw Rees – scrum half (Whitland)

Darren Daniel – wing (Cornish Pirates)

Steff Thomas said, “The above players will bring quality and depth to the squad and have all impressed so far in pre-season training.

Preparations Underway for the Quins (Steff Thomas)

Early training has officially started and the boys will be working hard three times a week Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 18:30 at Abergwili. A welcome is extended to all who would like to pop up and see the boys going through their paces.

We have agreed our pre-season fixtures and this year we have placed an emphasis on local fixtures and we will be playing as follows:

Saturday 11th August – Carmarthen Athletic – away

Saturday 18th August – Whitland – home

Friday 24th August – Ebbw Vale – away

Three good fixtures which will help us prepare for the new season.

Our development players have also joined the senior squad and we have the following players working with us:

Steffan Evans, Dyfed Morgan, Gethin Davies, Bedwyr Davies, Owain Powell from Newcastle Emlyn.

Scott Meakins, Simon O’Leary, Rhys Schiavonne from Quins Youth.

Jon Williams, Gareth Rees from Kidwelly Youth.

Will Lewis, Gareth Owen from Narberth.

Ashley Sutton from Haverfordwest/UWIC.

Having seen these boys play last season and having seen a little bit of what they have to offer already there is an awful lot of talent here to get excited about. I must also thank the clubs involved for making the players available to us and working with us to help these players achieve their potential

Have to say the player development in Emlyn is very impressive.
