I see he got 9 years for his assault yesterday in Crown Court which was an awful incident re the SWEP narrative. What a waste of the brain damaged victim and the perpetrator 's lifes - for no reason at all. Tragedy all round and also the poor families left to cope. Bad PR for rugby as well. Idiocy.
I feel angry and sad on this saga. Human waste..

He's 21 and that's his second very nasty assault. Very few have a good word for him it seems. No-one deserved that.

Yes for whatever reason he is a nasty piece of work and a shame to our great game to be profiled as a "rugby player" in the press.Hopefully he will look to turn his life around whilst he sits in his cell.

I'd be willing to bet he wont be so cock sure of himself in jail!

What is it with some people?

I suspect that many of us have got properly pi**ed quite a few times in our lives, especially as young men - but for the majority that leads to a certain friendliness and bonhomie - life is wonderful and everyone is my friend. A certain number, though, react very differently, and become 'angry drunks' spoiling for a fight.

I don't know if we're all capable of going down either route at different times, or if it's down to some biological difference - whatever, anyone who can't control their temper in drink should keep their consumption to sensible levels. It would probably be a good idea for groups to appoint a 'sober minder', like a 'designated driver', to keep people in check, maybe.

Shame.

Hope he can turn things around when he gets out, despite the odds.
