Unless our recent improvement in form is making me hallucinate I'm pretty sure I heard that S4C is covering the above match online tonight but have yet to find a link.

Any age group Scarlet side should be on the TV. We are the Scarlets.

Again, iirc, he is local and it’s either quite a good story or he’s a vg prospect (or both).
Hopefully, the person in the know will confirm the exact position.

Lost 29 - 17.
Cardiff are strong this season. They had 3 good teams in the College League. We played better in the second half but never got close enough to threaten a win.

Yes, we did improve in the second half but Cardiff were still by far the better team. They seemed better prepared physically and tactically. We had a few big players, but they were nowhere near as athletic as their opposite numbers. This is not surprising when you compare the population and catchment areas of the two regions. They have so many big players that a number will also be skilled and athletic, whereas in some positions we are even struggling for size, to say nothing of the great distances along country roads some would have to travel to train let alone play. m

The age grade league isn't so much about results for me, 3 or 4 guys that look like they can make it all the way is the success criteria for me.
The Wales U20 side that Scott played in only had 3 Scarlets, all 3 made it to full internationals, the only others that went on to win caps were Navidi, Beck and Faletau.

I tend to look for a handful of individuals too more than the collective performance, although it would be nice to see similar patterns to the senior side purely to make the transition to senior rugby easier.
I would like to see the regional age grade competitions later in the season leaving the college/6th form and club games culminate towards regional selection, not a fan of the squad being picked so early in the season, I'd rather the regions view the players throughout the season as players can develop a lot within months at the age of 16 to 18.
We do also seemingly sometimes pick players in certain positions to get a result or for the general make up of the team rather than go for their long term potential position, for example we might have some players who will never have the height for second row playing there when they're realistically better off getting used to playing front row or 6.

Wales under 20 also always look smaller maybe it’s ly eyes playing tricks on me

It's usually because they are bigger. France, England and Ireland have much bigger pools of players to select from than we have and i would suspect are better developed and monitored from an earlier age.

Think the bench made improvements in the second half which helped, the centre who came on was very effective and broke the gain line very well whereas the previous partnership were well beaten on the night The replacement 10 controlled the game much better putting us on a more forward footing Front row replacements seemed much bigger than starting front row and appeared to have more dominance which gave us better go forward ball.
They have the Ospreys on Sunday 5th as a re-arranged fixture I believe

It finished 29 - 17 to the Dragons. This was our U18s second game in four days so was a decent effort. A late interception took the wind out of our sails as it looked like we were going to push on to win. Both teams played some nice stuff.

Most Italians in Llanelli are from Sicily I believe. | Most Welsh Italians have been in Wales for 75 years or so .getting away from Musselini or for economic reasons. Great Welsh people whose culture and food in itself has added so much to our parochial society. We are lucky they came aren’t we.👍

Macs Page is an interesting player. He’s short for a centre, but has decent strength and power for his size. His acceleration and footwork looks very good. Physically he reminds me of Gordon D’arcy.

All our boys had a go in fairness, the worry is the lack of size in our team. Can’t see any of that pack going on to do much at test level unless they have a growth spurt. We really need to Get these lads into s and c programmes earlier

The Scarlets need two of the 4,5 and 6 to be tall, for lineout purposes, and everyone to be strong (mentally and physically), fit, and tough. Without the population density to compete with the three other regions, finding the two with the complete package is always going to be more difficult and the reason why we need to save our pennies for the likes of Lousi and Fifita.

Unisex rugby now? That is real progress!
The form blonde is usually used to refer to women, and blond to refer to men.

We’ve got 4 players in the 38 man Wales U18s squad heading up to Scotland for a couple of friendly matches.
I thought that was a bit low considering we had a competitive U18 this season, albeit one which only won 3 of their 8 matches. Then I saw that the Ospreys only have 2 in the squad despite winning the RAG tournament with 7 wins from 8 matches. That seems very strange.
12 of the 38 are currently studying outside of Wales. Not sure how many are ‘exiles’ and how many are local boys who’ve gone away to college.

Yeah there were a few good performers in the Scarlets games, and with Coleg Sir Gar getting to the final of the College league and Strade winning the schools/6th form final I'd have hoped for a couple more.
As you say the Ospreys representation feels very small bearing in mind their performances.
