Agree with Oracle about Foo F, remarkable really Artic Monkey's set was stunning, particularly, if you consider their front man had laryngitis. At their best it's a brooding , slightly dark sound, and I agree with Oracle, is very Doors at times. I seen them evolve over the years and it's 10 years since they last performed at Glastonbury. Tonight, I got back , just in time at 9.00 to catch a remarkable set from Manics, full of favourites, I have heard on my cd's and LiVe, many times ....thank you lads! At present loving another band I have seen several times ' Guns and Roses'...rolling back the years , like the other oldies, which the youngsters cannot yet match ! One new band I have really enjoyed, and I am always up for new material, is 'Gabriels', they performed yesterday, and were on Jules Holland last week too, a great emerging talent. On to tomorrow, with more oldies Blondie Cat Stevens( Yousaf), and to conclude ,the last performance, by Elton John, should be SPECIAL...Looking forward to it!

Guns n roses were awful. Awful frontman. No interaction with the crowd. More like spudguns n weeds.

Maybe I'm watching with 'Guns and Roses ' tinted glasses ...but SA14, as usual talking total rubbish , so it's intresting to know that he's consistent !Slash is STILL one of the best around .
What WAS/ IS awful is Blondie. Have seen them in their heyday, and they were brilliant, its embarrassing to see Debbie Harry at 77, sadly cannot sing anymore. Age has nothing to do with it, as McCartney proved last year, and even with a great backing band, Debbie should have hung up her microphone .

Foo fighters were amazing, Guns and Roses have still got it but axl struggled and when you take that voice out of a lot of their songs it doesn't quite sit as well as it used to. Thought lizzo was brilliant, enjoyed Cat Stevens and Elton John was superb this evening.
Was genuinely heartbroken watching Lewis Capaldi, brave brave man knowing he was not at his best and walking out in front of that crowd, you could see he was gutted not to be able to finish his set.

If Blondie needs to hang up her microphone so does Elton. My goodness his set was dire. He needs a mobility scooter to get on stage - the whole thing was embarrassing from someone who saw him 15 years ago at Canterbury Cricket Ground.

Ah I thought Elton did well, I liked he didn't bring out megastars (with the exception of Brandon Flowers) instead opting to give relatively unknowns an opportunity to shine.
Really enjoyed Foo Fighters, Cat Stevens/Yusaf & in particularly Rick Astley.

I really enjoyed Glastonbury this year , great to see sparks , blondie and Elton ...probably the last time we will ever see them ...Not musically at their best perhaps but personally just to see them one last time was the fact that matters most ...incredible to think that the manics released their first single 35 years ago ...... Must admit I was disappointed with lizzo , normally a great performer but this year wasn't great Band of the festival was definitely sparks for me , incredible performance with the energy levels of a group in their 30s rather than in their 80s
Enjoyed it from start to Finnish and great weather also adds hugely to experience

GPR proves that he is at least human...by getting it hopelessly wrong for a change !
ELTON WAS EXCELLENT, and all those I know, young and old have said the same . Was surprised by the mobility issues, but did'nt effect the performance . I admit I am am an Elton fan, particularly the 70's stuff, and I possess vinyl(still )"& cd's of most of his output, during this period. Have seen him live several times, but thought the prices on the farwell tour(gig at swansea),were ridiculously expensive, ahd I was'nt prepared to pay that money. However to open with pinball wizard and bitch is back, with such a tight sound, driven by Olson drums and Davey Johnson's wonderful guitar work, just set the tone. It just went from there...even though his early day falsetto, has n9w mellowed ( which I prefer), ge can STILL SING...which us more than I can say about Debbie Harry, who also looked a mess. Shame when this happens. Mc Cartney proved proved last year that age does'nt matter, as long as you can carry it off. Elton taken that decision now, and should be thanked for the years of pleasure he has given us. He's admitted his previous failings, with drink ,drugs, tantrums, we all make mistakes. He ' s now committed to he young talent, as this Glastonbury show indicates, and his 'aids foundation', has saved countless lives. Thank you Elton!

Human most definitely Pimp. Nostalgia is something I tend not to suffer with. I try to say it as I see it. My wife & I taped Elton's set and looked forward to replaying it. Elton when we saw him last was the epitome of energy, vocals were crisp & clear and his piano work top draw. I am afraid anyone who thought his set on Sunday was acceptable even is suffering from said nostalgia in my opinion.
He had mobility issues could hardly get up from his seat to take the applause, his vocals were dull and tame and his rapport with the audience was stilted. There comes a time in everybody's life when they need to realise that they can no longer do certain things. To perform on stage as a soft rock musician you need energy - Elton I am afraid does not.

I immediately picked up the word “taped”and thought I might have said just that before my online brain training reprogramming course I took 25 years ago to stop me using old fashioned words! Mind you have you seen Gareth’s striped Tank Top and flares - looks a bit like Whistling Bob Harris from the Old Grey Whistle Test !! 😉😁 Anyway I’m off for a stroll now with my Walkman 😉

But people forget he's an old guy , things don't work as well as your age progresses , there are many on here who make little sense at times but I just put it down that they are just old farts who are upset that the world they knew has gone ....it's a very strong emotion and was used to its full capacity by conning people to vote for brexit ....Some people's memories are clouded and distorted by what they think they remember compared to the facts

Perhaps you could explain what is nostalgic about watching Elton's Glastonbury set. What is nostalgic is thinking it was good in my opinion.

I do love it when remainers keep busting a gut to introduce Brexit into any conversation/comment they can. Poor buggers they can never seem to get over it - must be difficult carrying that around 24/7.

Gareth cannot avoid the occasional nibble outside off stump. After saying that , he(gar) and Lynton Lewis (et al), were the best I have seen, outside the county circuit, and I used to travel up regularly from Llanelli to Ammanford to watch. A didn't even know Gareth then. Even the best including Marus L, can get out for a duck occasionally...
So Gareth's recent innings at the Glastonbury oval read...............
