Just a short update on the plans. World Cup warm up games will be listed during July & August with one point for home win & two points for away. The World Rugby rankings as at 01/09/2023 will be published prior to the World Cup commencing and the World cup fixtures will be listed weekly as normal with relevant rankings attached to each fixture. Should the higher rank team win 1 point will be awarded; should the lower ranked team win then the points allocated will be calculated as 1 point for the win & an additional amount of points determined by the difference in rankings. For example should the 10th ranked team beat the top ranked team the allocation would be 1 + 9. |

Ok the rankings as of today are as follows :- 1. Ireland 2. New Zealand 3. South Africa 4. France 5. Scotland 6. England 7. Argentina 8. Australia 9. Fiji 10. Wales 11. Georgia 12. Samoa 13. Italy 14. Japan 15. Tonga 16. Portugal 17. Uruguay 19. Romania 21. Namibia 22. Chile. We have a weekend off next week to recharge the cells before the action begins. Good luck all.

As promised the final rankings which will be used for our predictions over the World Cup. Some significant movement from above based on the recent results. 1. Ireland 2. South Africa 3. France 4. New Zealand 5. Scotland 6. Argentina 7. Fiji 8. England 9. Australia 10. Wales 11. Georgia 12. Samoa 13. Italy 14. Japan 15. Tonga 16. Portugal 17. Uruguay 19. Romania 21. Namibia 22. Chile. Fixtures for the first week of the tournament will be published on Monday.

In addition to the normal predictions I am considering adding in a one off bonus selection along the lines of - name the 4 semi finalists with 3 points for each correct answer & name the winner with a points score of 8 giving 20 additional points. Selections to be made next week before the Tournament starts. Any thoughts/ideas????

Great that you can devote the time for this, in addition to everything else. If you’re happy with it, go ahead. It’s easier than the points calculations depend on rankings etc with every match ------------- In a world where you can be anything – Be Kind. |
