Thanks for this RR...it's important to note that some things transcend rugby and it's tribalism.

Wishing Abi a speedy recover ..

Agree with the sentiments  above wholeheartedly.
Abi Tierney is an ambitious  woman( not a bad thing), and has held several high profile  jobs. The poisoned chalice of course  was the latest one with WRU,and maybe she would have thought again in hindsight.
Stress is an awful thing and can lead to  a plethora  of health issues , physical  and mental.
There us of course no direct medical  evidence  that it can lead to cancer.
Many of us in our lives have been touched by cancer.
My mother had lymphoma,  and was Ok with treatment  until,a series of strokes ended that. My sister in has had breast cancer, and after surgery  faced 18 months of radio and chemotherapy.  Been real tough.
My wife had a lump,in her breast, thankfully  benign..but now yearly mammogram.
I have lio grade prostate cancer, it's OK, but I am having a biopsy shortly after MRI showed slight changes.

The main thing is active surveillance.  My advice to all on' fever' , any doubt, get it checked, and for men of a certain age have a mandatory PSA blood test. There are no symptoms  for prostate cancer and you may never know you have it. This is the worry, as opposed to someone like me, who now gets checked regularly .
Cancer in the prostate moves slowly ,  but the danger is if it spreads outside the prostate.  It could affect soft tissue,  but the worry is it could spread to vital organs.
Bob Willis of England cricket fame, due of prostate  cancer and didn't  know he had it. Very sad

I really wish Abi Tierney  well, and am sure thats echoed by all on scarletfever .The poor woman has been looking haggard,  so now she can concentrate on getting treatment , with the support of her family and getting well.
Pob hwyl

She’s a thorn in our side but I wouldn’t wish that bastard illness on anyone.

Yes, sad for her.

I thought there was either something about her physical or mental well being. If you look at this picture with the caption "Abi Tierney has the firre to transform Welsh Rugby" ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/articles/ce376xxn10wo" rel="nofollow - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/articles/ce376xxn10wo )

That does not look like a person with a lot of fire - something is clearly going on behind those eyes

I wish her the very best and a speedy recovery. But the timing is awful for the future of Welsh rugby. We're left with Collier Wood and Reddin both of whom seem to be impulsive.

One thing an a female in a significant position always brings to a meeting is a level of decorum and balance and the ability to calm a situation down.

From what I have read, Reddin is can be a loose cannon which given the people involved in the other 3 regions may be a bit fiery and antagonistic. No doubt the lawyers are all ready limbering up.
