Hi all,

I’ve been thinking about how night and day our merchandising option share been since VX3 came onboard as our kit supplier and I will say it’s probably the best range we’ve had for a long time.

My partner and I went into the shop last weekend to buy a gift card for her dad and came across a retail bin of pillows shaped and patterned with this seasons scarlets shirt which was something different.

I’m just curious what else the could do for merchandise as they seemed really responsive to ideas when I spoke to one of the guys at the shop launch back at start of last season?

Personally, I’d like to see some other choices like baseball style tops  https://tinyurl.com/Baseball-Shirt" rel="nofollow - https://tinyurl.com/Baseball-Shirt  and perhaps varsity style jackets. I remember having one as a gift a few years ago when we had Macron as supplier but I’ve ever seen anyone else wearing one, similar to this but with Scarlets on the back.  https://tinyurl.com/Varsity-Style-Jacket" rel="nofollow - https://tinyurl.com/Varsity-Style-Jacket

I’ve been thinking about it for this week as we were lamenting the fat there notion for Scarlets pyjamas. 😅

Ideas? Thoughts?

They did basketball jerseys so i could see that happening if the extra bits sold well.

I’d like throwback jerseys like they did for the rfc! Maybe the chocolate panels which everyone had. Or some new garish away like the yellow /orange ones.

Edit: a ‘scarlet’ out also where all the sponsors logos are on there but its all scarlet.

A little selfish but reflects my other passion, golf.

My golf towel that I hang on my bag is many years old and is perishing, so I need a new one. Shouldn't be too expensive to produce. A little more niche perhaps, but I also need a head cover for my driver, 3 and 5 wood.

I now there are some other golfers on here. They may sell well on the Golf Charity Day.

It would be good to see decent range of 'pocket money' items for kids. Didn't matter where we took mine the highlight was always the gift shop!

I will say this range is much better since vx3 have come in.

Picked up a car sticker £3 not had one for years😄😄

When I was speaking to one of the VX3 guys, whose name I unfortunately have forgotten, he explained about the number of different lines they had compared to Castore’s and it was night and day really.

I feel like every time I go into the shop there’s something new alongside the usual range.

I do hope that the VX3 team are in here as it would be great to see some more items leading into the Warner period of the year. Scarlets gear isn’t just for the season, it’s an all year round thing 😎

Have to say they do a superb job with overseas shipping. I’ve received items in 3 days, incredible speed.

I really liked the Hawaiian shirts, just sold out of XL far too quickly before I could get one.

I remember getting a decent coaster with my season ticket back in the day. Still use it. Bar mats or tea towels I've not seen in a while (or looked hard enough). Door mats!  Mouldable gum shields for the kids.  Retro style fluffy car dice (rugby balls)?

What I really want is proper kebabs in the stadium. Corny play on Turks but... I also really bloody love a kebab.

I got the car sticker I regret not getting one for the misses car I’ll grab another one next time at PYS.

VX3 is much better that Castore I got the red hoody and I really like it very comfortable.

I would be happy for Scarlets to re sign with VX3.

When vx3 came in I was chatting to what I assume was the owner, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guy.

He was saying the part of supplying championships sides is that they get monitored on the number of pocket money bits under a 5er, it's something they wanted to bring to the Scarlets and it is something I think they have done well with it in fairness.

It's something we have missed in my opinion and if we want to bring in the next generations we have to provide stuff for them to spend the 5er or 10er that nana or bampa gave them to get something down the rugby.

My Scarlets mouse mat is really faded now (must be at least 10 years old?). I'd like a new one, and a calendar. My car sticker is still going strong Smile

And they definitely need to make more Christmas jumpers. The last lot sold out far too quickly!

+1 for the Christmas jumpers and a few other things mentioned in this thread.

I was just going to say the same. I bought a car sticker years ago (and an hanging air freshener), and still have it (it's been in three cars now). Not seen them since, but now you have mentioned it, I'll be picking one up for sure.Star

I want a water bottle that has ‘ospreys tears’ on it, or those glasses with eyes on springs labelled ‘Andrew Brace replica ref vision’

Agree re. pocket money stuff, or cheap presents - used to buy my godchildren a pile of bits years ago instead of Easter eggs, for example. I would also love a copy of an old jersey.

Has anyone seen the WRU Members Club subscriptions, I have a vague recollection that the Scarlets did something similar years ago, I know that Munster did and at the time it was something like 50 Euro for the year but that gave you that years jersey too

Could be a money spinner for the club but more importantly a huge data capture exercise for future marketing and if we replicate the WRU version of free membership for children with the below benefits then that gives us a chance to inspire the next generation

  • Personalised Membership Card
  • 15% off on Gilbert equipment and products
  • 10% off on Rhino equipment and products
  • Access to exclusive competitions for signed merchandise and once-in-a-lifetime experiences
  • Physical Birthday Card
  • Digital Christmas e-card
  • Welsh Rugby branded Height Chart
  • Certificate as a WRU Member

A collaboration between our kit provider and Scimitar Ltd to see our age grade (guys an gals) teams to play in majority recycled material rugby kits, with an youth range to match in the shop, would be interesting...

The Merchandise production needs to be linked to marketing and preferably inovative in the moment marketing.

At the moment red beanie hats are a growing world wide theme, oringally from WW2 Norway as a sign of defiance against Nazi oppression. It is has now been reinvigorated by the events in Minesota. against ICE and Trump.  Whilst no way belittling the efforts of the past, a new slogan "Fight Oppression, wear red" would be catchy and give a subtle dig at the WRU striking a cord with rugby fans. There could be red with black, red with blue and red black and amber for the other 3 regions.

Similarly a protest / tribute  shirt for potentially the last Scarlets v Ospreys game where we play in red with black and white and Ospreys play with a red stripe. Not only a collectable item but something to show some unity. I would keep the stripes on the Scarlet shirt for 2026/2027.

So many options on using the Scarlet colour and known characters to make catchy T-shirts - A picture of Santa with "Scarlets fans come more than once year" Or Captain Scarlet - indestuctable. A picture of Hell Boy and cross off the Hell and write Cubby or "Finnau can still get you!", "Get your retaliation in first" or "Get your tackles in early - even if its late!"

Each year do a new Remembrance shirt and give the procedes to local veterans charities.

Make dog coats and bandanas "I love Dogs and the Scarlets"

Popped into the shop earlier after work as they have a sale on.

Picked up the home and European jerseys combined with season ticket holder discount for less than the cost of the O’s jersey 😎 value for money from VX3 there.

Also grabbed a beanie that I hadn’t seen there before, lovely quality. Think I’ve spent more there this year than the past few combined 😅

Would still like some Scarlets pyjamas though…

My partner bought me the "retro" style jersey as well. Left there with three tops overall. Spoiled for choice.

What a difference compared to quite a few years previous!

Well done VX3 and those who brought them to the club.

slightly off subject. was in the shop yesterday and got to say its stocked up very well fair dues to vx3. had loads of sizes and items there. theres a sale on a lot of the items at the moment of 40% which is great but if you got season ticket you get extra again.
bought the cotton long sleeve scarlets jersey and it was only £31. cannot fault it especially as the quality is good (much better than our previous suppliers).
