Just read that Josh & Tom Rogers have been released back to the Scarlets for this weekend. Happy days. Cardiff get 3, and O’s get 4 players. None for the Dragons.

In fairness, Dragons only contributed 2 players and they both started, so not likely to get them back.

Any clue if Elis Price is fit soon?

I’d go
Jac D, Rogers, Roberts, Williams, Lewis, CLJ, Archie, Anderson, Douglas, Taylor, Ball, Lousi, Thomas, VDM, Matthias.
Subs, Page, McBryde, Blacker, Davis, Price, Holz, Harry, SOC.

McLeod and Rogers being released probably means they are not in contention for the Irish game. Or it could be that Tandy is considering them and wants them to have a run out in match conditions?

Someone that I work with is heavily involved with Carmarthen Quins, he mentioned this morning that Gabe was in the squad, and that he was covering 10 too.

Has Ioan Jones any experience at 10? Normally he is a back 3 player but as we know little of him so far, it's possible.
Da Iawn GPR for adding the starting clubs of the players.

Is this a new thing, where the Scarlets notes their origin club? I like that a great deal. But it just goes to show how West Wales produces few forwards.

So Jac Davies at 15 is not a local lad? When did he come down west? The Scarlets website while showing some promised under Luxury has gone back to being somewhat useless again. No details on him - age, height, weight, birthplace etc.

I'm pretty certain Ioan Jones is down as a FB with OH as a secondary position on Rugby 25 the computer game. Mind you, Joe Roberts preferred position (before both centre positions) is hooker, so maybe take with a pitch of salt!

Scarlets said that Billy is unavailable,I wonder if he’s playing for RGC against Bridgend in the plate semi final this weekend, would be a shame if he does play there rather than be involved in Edinburgh, also he might be just not available

I think it's all URC, Prem Cup and Champ Rugby this weekend.

They might be wearing socks from the original club too.

Glad to see we're sticking with the axis of Archie/CLJ, consistent game time is the only way we'll turn potential into professionals.

Pack looks decent considering its the international window/injuires/fifta left without even saying goodbye last summer.  Nice to see Macs at 13 too, I may have my scarlet tinted goggles on but he always seems to score when given enough time on the pitch.

Very young backline. Exciting but inexperienced. Hope they have prepared well and that they click. Slightly concerned that Joe R is playing 12. He hasn't had much experience playing there as far as I know. It will be a big test for Page too  - defending the 13 channel.  Why isn't J Willams involved/  Is he injured?

I think he’s a similar age to Winnett and Beetham. They were favoured for academy contracts so we gave him an opportunity down here.

They've definitely fixed that issue with Roberts as hooker. Had Ioan Nicholas as a centre for ages. Not a great game but I still play regularly.

Good team though and you can see Nigel is putting his faith in younger talent again, perhaps down to 6N callups but he believes in them enough.

And finally get to see Ioan Jones play off the bench. If he can be an option at 10 backing up CLJ, I'll be happy, even if he's a FB by trade.

If you've got amazon Prime, it's like £8.50 a month for 2 months or prem sport (then goes up to £16) but if you go to cancel once you'll be offered a discounted rate to stay

Premier rugby channel is free on Virgin. Unfortunately that channel is showing Cardiff game tonight, Edinburgh Scarlets game is on Premier sports 😟

Premier rugby channel is free on Virgin. Unfortunately that channel is showing Cardiff game tonight, Edinburgh Scarlets game is on Premier sports 😟
Thank you. Didn't realise they were different. Must do my homework properly !!!

Let's hope for a win and  a good performance  tonight.
Will not be easy,  never is at Edinburgh, whatever side they put out.
We have a decent pack out and hopefully  ,could lay the foundations  for success

So we're not penalising head contact tonight then. Ok, good to know.

That was both direct head to head contact, with no mitigation, and reckless because the Edinburgh player wasn’t even looking or attempting wrap arms. I guarantee we’ve had players sent off for far less

Scrum penalty for Edinburgh which is a bit worrying given the pack we've got out.

Our scrum is worrying, considering the pack. CLJ has the right idea - this (presumably plastic) pitch makes the ball bounce horribly, and he’s putting in testers near their back 3 forcing them to take on that bounce.

Roberts slices through for a great try, ice cold conversion from CLJ 7-0

Excellent tap and go pen from Archie sends louisi into the corner, should be a try but the ref being an Edinburgh fan….

Great start by Joe Roberts. Superb pass for that try. We need a big game from him as there isn’t much experience either side of him in the backs.

CLJ also converts from seemingly inside the stands, it was 1” off the touchline i swear!

Try came from Archie taking a tap pen with Edinburgh failing to retreat 10, he offloads to fletcher anderson who carries it deep, then all the way from right to left for Lousi to finish

We’re not getting the rub of these refereeing decisions. Very harsh to say Henry Thomas didn’t roll away there. Before that it was a very dubious offside decision against Douglas.

It’s frustrating because Edinburgh offered nothing until it was 14-0. I just felt one more score to scarlets then would have killed the game off early doors.

I thought the same about Thomas, especially as the ball was available and the scrum half got it away quickly. If the 10 hadn't dropped it then I'm sure the ref wouldn't have come back.

Nope there was no advantage. Thought it was a wasted opportunity to be honest. Think the boys just wanted to get the ball out for halftime

No just a shot to nothing, it wasn’t a bad effort under pressure. Louisi and Marnus were both on the floor, I think we probably would have struggled to continue attacking.

Ref is absolute poo. And confusing. He’s rescued a very poor Edinburgh about twice a minute all first half. The good news is, this game is 100% there for the taking. We just need to be 2-3% better or get on the refs good side

Well done for hanging on guys. We have to weather the early storm in the second half. the longer we hang on the more desperate they'll get.

Agreed we were more likely to give a penalty away the longer that play went on.

Douglas has put in some good defensive hits tbf, but he’s been obviously offside for charge downs, flapped at a scarlets attacking lineout 8m out and looks rusty. Also could have played in the wing for the 2nd try but went himself and Lousi had to rescue it
