Well, that's the mandate given. We now have 26 extra names as working group to add to our own?

We need to agree to a date for the next meeting along with a suitable venue. No longer can we use places like the Sandpiper until natural selection and boredom whittles down the numbers.

We need to get a little professional from now on. We need a Chair to co-ordinate meetings with minutes that are adhered to. We also need a Secretary to organise the sending of emailed invitations, minuting etc. Can I respectfully nominate Barrie in this role as he has been the one to liaise with Supporters Direct to great effect (without whom last night's meeting could not have succeeded), if he would be happy to accept and if you all would be happy with that? Barry - I may be being presumptive in that you'd be a willing volunteer, but I think that you've shown consumate skills in this area already, and you've digested the information provided by SD and can steer the enlargened group in the right direction.

Richard Lillycrap (I bet that gets edited when it is posted!!) suggested to me last night that we keep the core of our group together to organise the actual launch and use all volunteers to perform certain tasks as needed - otherwise we have to re-invent the wheel and bring too many people up to speed. We do, though, need to get all volunteers together to decide on who is who and what is what in a meeting.

Any other comments, suggestions or ideas?

Mark mentioned last night that two of his friends at the meeting had the necessary legal and (I think) accountancy skills. Did they put their names forward? Or can you tell us what they thought Mark.

I did make a public committment on behlaf of the Trust (after advice from Richard) in the presentation to meet with the Association. I really think that we have to follow this up.

Richard's impression after speaking to the members there was that they think we are an irrelevance and will not be in opposition to them. This is a good thing in that at least it will avoid conflict................unless we start asking for the best Patron seats and International tickets  .

Looking at the forms when they came in there was someone with employment law skills and 1 or 2 with accountancy skills. One was a guy who's on the Executive committee he asked if that precluded him from joining, I told him not at all.

I will compile a spreadsheet of the volunteers this weekend.

I will also send an email to each of them thanking them for registering their interest of volunteer and ask for a little time for us to read through all the forms and get back to them.

All in good time though, I think we need to sort ourselves out first. We have a mandate, we don't need their blessing anymore, if we needed it at all. In fact I don't see what they have to offer us in terms of practical support. Appart from Meurig, the association members aren't used to doing any work, so lets see what they can offer us. They don't own the club, Huw does.

They don't own the club, Huw does. Agree with that, Gareth. The key relationships in this are not with Marlston Morgan, Mike Reilly etc but with HE, SG, and PD. It'll be interesting to see how that develops over the coming months especially if the Trust starts to "show some teeth" over any issue (as decided by membership, of course). Exciting times ahead, bois bach. I'm fairly sure it was Alister something Gar, on his form in the skills section he wrote Teacher accountancy. He seemed a nice bloke said it was a positive thing we were doing.

Meurig is a really tidy bloke hes the one that has done a lot for the club, I have a lot of time for him. Lets forget today, tomorrow should be a great day!

We need to set a date for next week sometime. I suggest that we all find a mutually convenient time and place and then send out emails to all the others that volunteered. We then take it on from there as to how many carry it forward.

Excellent news, Mark, about the offer for legal and financial help. Opening a bank account is on the agenda, so we need some trustees - I assume that the treasurer is obviously our financial expert? Do Supporters Direct offer advice on how many we need?

Yes we need to get that sorted pretty quickly. Are we going to meet with the extra volunteers or have a small meeting between ourselves first?

I agree with Bob, although the sooner we integrate our volunteers after that, the better.

One get-together so we can regroup, and set a direction would be good. Up until now, getting to the Open Meeting (and external issues beyond our control) have taken up all our time. Besides, I reckon we deserve ONE evening of celebration at what has been achieved so far.

Any night (except Monday) would be fine for me.
