Planning for the new season is well underway and in fact the extended squad have started weekly weight training at Parc Y Scarlets already. There have been quite a few changes in the last few weeks and after four highly successful seasons with the 1st XV Max Howells will move on to a new role in the club. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Max Howells personally for his hard work and leadership with the 1st XV over the last 4 seasons. Max has played a major part in re establishing the club in the Welsh Premiership. Max will concentrate on developing the Under 16 and Youth rugby in the club; a hugely important part of our future and something we must get right. On the playing front we bid farewell to Ricky Richards, Stuart Phillips, Craig Everett, Gareth Morgan, Tal Selley and Jason Howells. All have been good servants to the club over the last few seasons, in particular Ricky and Stuart who have played big parts over the last few seasons as Carmarthen boys. It is really pleasing to see that Ricky will continue his links to the Club by coaching the Youth XV this coming season. This season will see Steve Williams and Paul Fisher continue in their coaching roles and Craig Dyson continue to head up the medical team. Former Quins 1st XV head coach, Ian Jones, will return to the club to work with the development players that we have in our system and to assist Steve and Paul with the 1st XV. As mentioned above with Max taking control of the youth and the development players from the Scarlets Under 18’s and 20 systems training with Ian in the 1st XV arena we are working hard to develop young local talent for the future as well as looking to emulate last seasons achievements. In the meantime I am delighted to announce the capture of two very important players for next season in James Dixon and Rhodri Wells, both of whom played for Swansea R.F.C. Both players are accomplished players at this level with Rhodri having played many games for the Ospreys and James who has scored in excess of a 1000 league points despite being only 26 years of age. I will write again shortly with an update on our squad and new signings for the coming season. Regards Steff Steff Thomas Head of Rugby |

Anyone heard any truth that the Quins have had a bill Courtesy of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs for unpaid Tax on wages, not sure if its the playing/coaching side or the bar staff?
