"It was a shame when I found out he was coming back, but I'd already made my decision and I've just got to stick with that."
This is what Rhys Priestland said in an interview today on his move to Bath. In other words unless I've read the interview wrong if Rhys had known Stephen was coming back he probably wouldn't have signed for Bath!, and if that is the case then what a blunder by all concerned
Wales only true rugby region.

Surely Rhys  must have known Stevo was to  return ? Paul there was strong talk as early as October that he was returning to us in a coaching capacity .

Dont agree. If you only want to stay because a former player is coming back then he wasnt interested in playing for the team

I think he's clumsily just saying that it's a good appointment for us, rather than he regrets the move.

Maybe the lack of respect for the former skills coach had something to do with the move.....lack of communication maybe.

Be careful when you pick up the stick.........IT MAY BE THE WRONG END!!!!!!!!!!

I'm lost a bit with rhys to be honest. says he's putting his wales career in jeapordy by joining bath.....then why join bath then,to be 2nd choice behind George ford? something just doesn't add up to me.
I WAS THERE-LIBERTY STADIUM 11/9/07 & 26/3/16

At 28 its his last chance to build a retirement fund and also to test himself in another environment away from the goldfish bowl. Whatever his reasons were I hope it works out for him.

I'd still be highly delighted ig he could somehow be persuaded to do a "Xavier". We are going to sorely miss his experience
We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

Rhys isn`t going to self combust into a thousand pieces when he turns 30/31 or whatever age he decides to retire at. I would imagine with his Scarlets and Welsh salary he will be on a decent six figure salary at the moment. No reason these days why the top earners in Welsh rugby cannot have a 2nd career when they retire; what are they gonna do for the next 35 years???

Surely we couldnt have told Rhys that Stevo was coming back if Mark Jones was unaware he was leaving

Rhys has almost gone and Stevo almost arrived and that's the reality. The rest is just opinions and I am now looking forward to seeing what Steve can do for the backs structure next season. Organised if nothing else!

premiership will be a good move for him, shingler has more potential then what priestland did at his age IMO. should have gone to a different team however will be a bench warmer with ford there.
