RIP Ray Reardon

   I expect most will have seen that our greatest Welsh snooker player, Ray Reardon, has passed away. Ray won the world title six times in the 1970s. He was also a showman, and seemed a really nice guy. Certainly, all his fellow players have been warm in their comments about him.
I saw Ray play once, at Belle Vue in Manchester in 1974 when he beat Graham Miles in the final. (Miles had a very peculiar cueing style with his cue running beneath his left ear.) As Ray said, he didn't play that well but wasn't put under pressure by Miles as he didn't play well either!

	A sad day for snooker and another one of a number of great welsh sporting icons that we have sadly lost in the past 2 years. A real gentleman who remained humble and true to his roots throughout his life. RIP Ray ‘Dracula’ Reardon.
