7 home games in first 2 months (including Bristol Bears)
5 home games in remaining 6 months.

We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

You couldn’t make it up. Something to address with Crys, JSG and anyone else?

With that fixture list would like to think we could be challenging near the top after first 6 games no reason why not.
She asks why i still can't answer. I guess its in the blood.

Come off it. All the clubs are unhappy with the fixtures I bet. (No Irish comebacks)

Those who have the patience to research just how often other sides go to SA without their internationals will be able to put the facts before you. Have we ever had our internationals when playing there? Can’t think that we have.

The irregularity of home matches might be spread about the league more evenly, although you have to wonder why it should be that way.

Hopefully, a keen member on here can answer these and/or other points.

I think all the Welsh teams are out there at the same time. All in all, from a competition point of view, this isn’t a bad fixture list for us if we can perform well at the start.
It’s good for fan engagement at the kick off of the season, but the URC just falls apart in the 2nd half of the season. There are so many gaps, it’s difficult to maintain any interest in the narrative as a competition with jeopardy from week to week.

We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

They can't really win as when our second string used to go to Ireland on a 6 nations weekend to face Leinster or Munster we would be up in arms saying its unfair. Now we don't play those weekends people will complain that there's too many gaps.

We will play the following league fixtures without our internationals during the 6N
  • Bulls home (with all their internationals available)
  • Edinburgh home
  • Munster away
  • Possibly Sharks at home, it is the week after the final fixture.
So in my eyes, we’ve lost valuable revenue from 2 home games, value for ST holders, momentum and continuity, for very little gain.

This league is run for the benefit of the test teams in my opinion.

The whole set up of the regions is focussed towards the test team in my eyes not the league.

The players should be available for the Sharks game, injuries aside.

Edinburgh should be, given they will be more affected by call ups, weaker than us really.

Munster is never an easy place to go, even if you're fully loaded.

In any case, despite my moaning, I am very excited for the new season. A nice run of home games to enjoy in the (hopefully) decent weather of September and October.
