Franklin Gardens booked in...great memories of a ( against all odds) win there in the Cup a dozen of so years ago.
A request has been submitted to the House Finance sub committee for commercial travel funding to make it Bordeaux

I was in Bordeaux over the weekend. Awesome city. Go on a wine tour to St.Emilion too if you can.

If that’s the case I hope we getting good money from S4C as it’s going to cost the clubs thousands. It’s barmy the last train to Bristol from Llanelli is 945 ish no chance we have lost hundreds of away supporters because of this KO time. How many home supporters we have lost I would hate to know. The chance of a full house and all that goes with it down the pan bloody annoying to say the least.

Cornish Pirates lobbied the GWR to put on a later than normal train from Penzance so that fans could come to the game by train still and they succeeded.
It would not be beyond the wit of the social media savvy Bears and with some pressure from Scarlets to do the same with TfW for this one occasion. You’d like to think a bit of political heft could come in too.

I agree but isn’t it galling that we would have to do that. I bet the Bristol fans are not happy either

Plenty of due diligence to be done on that saloon.

As I mentioned on another thread, this is the core problem with regional rugby we have a home game against Munster but no home game against the champions Leinster. Can you imaging in English football if Man U and Liverpool only played each other once in a season ?
Plus the games need to be in sensible pods. e.g. If we are playing Glasgow we should play Edinburgh fairly soon afterwards. This would not only save the players a lot of travelling but allow some local PR opportunities but give the fans more incentive to attend away games as they could book a 7 to 10 day break.
Similarly align some of the URC games with the 6n. It is not uncommon for Scotland to be playing in Cardiff and a regional team playing in Glasgow or Edinburgh and the same for Ireland and Italy. What a great weekend that could be URC game on a Friday, 6n on Saturday and U20's on a Sunday. it doesn't even have to be a Cardiff Blues game. Many rugby fans would happily stay around Llanelli / Swansea and to watch a regional game on a Friday and then either take a train to Cardiff or could enjoy the game in PyS, a local rugby blub or bar.

Scarlets to take on Drovers and Quins in pre-seasonScarlets will launch their pre-season campaign when they take on Llandovery and Carmarthen Quins at Llandovery’s Church Bank on Saturday, September 6 (4pm ko). The match will see Dwayne Peel’s squad play 30 minutes against the Drovers followed by 30 minutes against the Quins. Llandovery and Carmarthen will then lock horns for the final half hour. The day will be a chance for supporters to view the bright young talent coming through the region and an opportunity for the Scarlets new faces to introduce themselves to fans as the squad builds towards the opening match of the BKT United Rugby Championship, at home to Munster on Saturday, September 27. As a curtain raiser, Llandovery College will be playing their big annual fixture against Millfield School at 1pm. On Saturday, September 13, Scarlets head down the M4 to take on Dragons RFC at Rodney Parade before attention turns to the arrival of Munster in Llanelli. Scarlets Season Ticket holders can watch the game for free. Admission prices for the match in Llandovery will be confirmed closer to the date.

I guess S4C have not confirmed that they will be getting any games? All URC games on Premier Sports?

Interesting comment by Simon Massie-Taylor CEO Premiership Rugby in that what they found is that televising games on TV actually boosted attendances in grounds rather than diminished. What they got the clubs to do was to fill the stands the cameras covered. This then increased the - i want to be part of that or the exclusivity of getting a hard to get ticket.
And in Wales we now have less televised URC games and no programs live Scrum V broadcast - as always we go in the wrong direction.
