We must be the unluckiest side in the world when it comes to injuries, for the last three seasons our squad has been decimated .
Is it bad luck or poor conditioning, what do people think ? Players missing tonight were, andy fenby, dale ford, lee williams,Iestyn thomas, phil john, deacon manu, ken owens, emyr phillips, dom day and david lyons, not forgetting daf jones and gavin quinnell who have at to retire .

Bad luck.
For start two props with broken limbs in one game is freak. Yes recent seasons suffered with again two breaks in one game. Amount of injuries shows up more for us with our squad depth. That is our problem, we still do not have depth to cope with injuries throughout season. Until injuries, international call ups at test level and u20s etc has exposed our squad Name last time we fielded anything near our full strength starting 15 |

Typical injury levels in professional rugby seem to be an average of about 25% to 30% of games missed by players. This affects smaller squads more than larger ones. It's more likely that the Scarlets better players will be injured because they have fewer of them proportionately. They have also been unfortunate in the length of some of the injuries. The Good News is that this creates opportunities for younger players and, over time, forces the squad into the position where they have fewer "critical" players whose loss to injury weaken them severely. That's already happening, in my view.

Our injury situation over last few seasons has helped us to where we are now allowing younger players in setup to step up to mark

all teams have injuries, isn't the average about 25% of squad injured at any 1 time?
affects us more as we have less squad depth than some side, although the tight prop injury crisis was a freak and has hit us for six

Our tight head situation may well have our season defining problem.
