Hope it sparks an Indian Summer in his career.

Rob was understandably blowing a bit. Shings looked as fit as ever. Hope Rob’s venture in US goes well for him. Too young to retire . I keep on thinking ‘ what if’ with the last 3 years or so of Rob’s career and his Welsh caps ..

It was however great to see him on the field today, for probably  the last time.
Outstanding  Scarlet,  and it has been such a pleasure  to see him play over the years.

Absolutely right - strange to say, there were periods when he had his doubters who complained that he wasn't a big strong carrying hulk - oddly ignoring the fact that he was our best lineout specialist by a country mile, plus had real pace - remember that try straight from a kick-off?

A superb player for the Scarlets.

The Barbarians were mainly Australians, many of whom had been playing together as Australia A before joining up, so they weren’t the typical “thrown together” team.

I missed Rob Evans and Kemsley Mathias. I’m sure they used to lift share every day as they’re both from the Haverfordwest area.

That explains it then - the 'driver' (whichever that was) carried a long-term grudge against the 'passenger' for not paying his fair share of mileage!

Seriously, though - hope it works out for Rob in the USA. A very talented player who for whatever reason seemed to lose his way.

It’s so strange how he’s fallen off since that 2019 Grand Slam. He got injured between the end of that tournament and the start did the 2019 World Cup training camp and has never remotely looked the same player since. It’s such a shame as he’d become a genuinely good international level prop. To go from that to being unable to find a pro contract in Europe 4 years later, at age 30/31, is a head scratcher.

Yes Dai Flanagan took him on but that career resurgence opportunity fizzled out sadly. His prime was nothing like it should have been sadly

I spoke to Kemsley at the end of last season, and I told him how irked I was about Rob Evans  comments about Scarlets  , once he joined Dragons. Kempley laughed and said take no notice of Rob, that's the way he is , sometimes a great wind up merchant !
He also said how much Rob  loved the Scarlets.
I that context, it must have been a blow to him to lose his pro contact here, and now at Dragons.
We have wonderful memories of Rob at his best here at Scarlets   and of course for Wales. He formed a formidable  front row with Ken and Samson(at his best )
Rob had a great skill set, and who can forget the lovely pass, in the 2017 Pro 12 final in Dublin which ended in steff Evans scoring,  after the ' me to you, with foxy'.
Sadly injures  affected him badly, and when you cannot scummage effectively  any more , which is now the case with Rob, its curtains.

I heard he had taken up a player  coach role at his old club of Haverfordwest , so I don't  know  what  happened  to that.
Anyway,  if he is going to the US  on a new venture,  I wish him well.
I stood yer on tanner bank

Fair play, that's going to be fun.
If it's the new Miami Sharks, they just signed a deal to play at Inter Miami's training ground.
Rob on the same field as Messi?

Always seemed a very look at me kind of player. Belongs to the rugby teams of the 90s.

Great win, as many have alluded to second half we had a lot of youngsters playing and they more than held their own.

Ioan Lloyd was man of the match for me. Excited by him linking up with Mcnicholl and our backs.
Eddie James showing great promise.

Plumtree has great rugby IQ.

Impressed by Morgan Jones and Ed Scragg for his first game did very well.

Shaun Evans with a strong showing again.

Gutting for Archie Hughes to come off after scoring.

Lineout needs real work, and the scrum,
Defence looked good.
